In the most beautiful location in Ireland this hotel is Top Class. It has the feel of a very exclusive country lodge. The food is five star quality and the service is excellent.Lovely atmosphere in the bar with nice background entertainment.Rooms are very nice and homely.Great value for money also.

We were looking forward to our stay at the Renvyle having heard good things about it. It is certainly in a lovely location and the old house looks well. We were given a room in the wing extension of the hotel. This room was poor to say the least - dirty carpet, uncomfortable bed, ash and smell of smoke in the bathroom. This was not what we expected at all. Presumably there are better rooms in the main house, but unfortunately we were not offered one of those. The best aspect of this hotel is the evening meal in the restaurant. It was excellent, and certainly not the usual hotel quality food. The bar and lounge area's are nice and comfortable. We did not find the staff in the hotel to be very pleasant, but the main gripe we would have with this hotel is the quality of the bedrooms. They need serious attention!

My wife and I have just returned from our sixth visit over the last five years to the Renvyle House. We just love the 'get away from it all' feel of both the property and the location. The accommodations, the food, and most of all the warm and friendly (yet very professional) ambience of the place is what draws us back so regularly. A three day break here is better than a six day break anywhere else, and we always return home happier, fresher and ready for anything! Thank you to all the great management and staff, and see you all in 2010....

It is one month since our last visit to Renvyle House Hotel to which we are frequent visitors . Renvyle is a magical place , the hotel ouzes with history and atmosphere and the setting is as beautiful as you will find anywhere in the world .

We all enjoy the hotel facilities and of course the restaurant is legendary and the food outstanding . The staff are both polite and friendly and clearly take great pride in providing such excellent service .

What is utterly unique is that guests , charmed with Renvyle , return again and again , not for years but for generations .
This is a hotel where children are afforded funfilled carefree days and adults , romantic , restful evenings - or have the craic in the bar - and all within a spectacular scenic location . It is comforting to know that places like this continue to thrive .

We are now planning our next visit to Renvle House Hotel , where I know as always , a welcome will be waiting .

Unfortunately it was dissapointing, the scenery is however fabulous, the grounds and setting is amazing, but the service, accomadation, quality and quantity of food ,and value for money were well below average. Our room was small, and dingy, not waht one would expect to find in such a nice location, our beds were uncomfortable, our view was terrible, and there was a odour of smoke in our room.
Renvyle is over priced, and they need to look at their portion sizes, and question their value for money. II would not return there....................... To be honest I have stayed in more comfortable travel lodges, that just about sums up room standard.

We headed off on our trip to Renvyle House Hotel in Connemara with some intrepidation for the whit weekend from Dublin, only to arrive four hours later to a wonderful haven of peace and tranquility all wrapped up in a the most senic setting you could wish for - with the Atlantic to your right the specatular mountain range of Connemara to your left. On arrival we were greeted by the welcoming reception staff and shown to our comfortable and spacious room. While there are many jewels with in this 'kingdom' the restuarant is certainly one of the biggest - the rack of lamb should never be missed.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Renvyle House is a four star, historic country house, family owned and family run. It first opened as a hotel in 1883 and is spectacularly located on a 150 acre estate on the shores of the Wild Atlantic Way (midway point of the longest car touring route in the world!). Renvyle House is known for it’s “air of otherwordliness” which we believe is a strong and unique selling point and something of which we are very proud. Our emphasis is on customer service “friendly combined with professional” and we believe this plays a large part in why Renvyle enjoys over 55% repeat business. The hotel resort grounds include a private lake, a par 3 golf course, a beach, woodlands, gardens and numerous activities on site including tennis, croquet, outdoor heated swimming pool & Canadia Hot Tub which overlokks the Atlantic (summer months), fly-fishing, canoeing and more. Renvyle House is also well known for it’s good food and this is as much due to the locally sourced fresh produce (lamb, fish, vegetables and herbs from our own garden) as to Tim O’Sullivan’s expertise in the kitchen (Tim is our award winning Executive Chef). Renvyle House always has a warm welcome guaranteed for every guest. ... more   less
