Thank you for taking the time to write your review. It is always a pleasure to have guests who come to stay once becoming regular visitors, as you have. It reaffirms what we do and shows that what we do is what our guests want in a holiday.
I trust we shall see you soon again and thank you once again for your lovely review,
I can't find the right superlative to do it justice, really. I've stayed there for some time over the last 5 years while working on an archaeological project in the area. The number of familiar faces you see from returning guests each summer attests to how beloved the Doonmore is. The quality of everything you could measure in a hotel is extraordinary - the food, accommodations, staff, etc. But, it's really none of those things that make it special. Something about the sea-side location, the conviviality of the pub, and the joy and melancholy of the music sessions. It's a place made for making memories. Go there, good things will happen.
Thank you for taking the time to write your review, we really appreciate it. I hope that you will be coming back to visit us for many years to come and that you will see The Doonmore going from strength to strength in the hands of current and next generations of the Murray family.
There are many good hotel and holiday locations in Ireland. The Doonmore Hotel, run by the Murray family, and Inishbofin, however, is very special. The Murray’s, as well as all the islanders, will make you want to stay on Inishbofin: not just come back next year, not just bring your family and friends with whom you want to share this special place, but stay and never leave. Over the last seven years we have brought our family, worked for a month at a time out of the Doonmore, and been warmly treated as friends. This is a very special hotel, run by great, fun people, in a spectacular setting, on a great island, that is hidden away, private and one of the best kept secrets in Ireland. Visit the Doonmore and Inishbofin once and you will want stay.
Thank you so much for your review. I hope we can continue to provide you and your fellow travellers from across the pond with the service you deserve long into the future.
You have seen the inner workings of The Doonmore at close quarters, more so than most due to the unique nature of your stays, and we are delighted to be able to do what we can to make your rather complicated job a little easier.
Thank you again for taking the time to write your review,
We have been going to the Doonmore Hotel in Inisbofin since the year of our marriage in 1973.
We always stayed with the Murray family in the Doonmore. It suited our children when they were small. We took our youngest daughter into Inisbofin when she was i year old. When she left school she worked part time as a student in the Doonmore for two years and now has two children of her own. She still goes to the Doonmore on holiday.
As for myself and my wife we get there every year for the excellent food, the rooms, the walks and the very friendly staff. The hotel is now in the capable hands of Andrew Murray and his sister Aileen who have continued the great traditions of welcome and great food. The hotel caters for all, old and young. We first went when we were young and now that we have aged, our own children still go to the Doonmore with their families.
Even though we are now pensioners we will always go back to the most relaxing place in the world. Great home cooked food, special service and attention, friendly people, lovely scenery and walks. Great music. Long may the Doonmore Hotel and Inisbofin continue.

Dear Maurice and Therese,
Thank you so much for your lovely review. As I have written in some other responses, it is always great to have long time regular guests taking the time to share their experiences of holidays in The Doonmore over such a long number of years.
As you will know, we have built up a large repeat trade over the past 44 years. We are well aware that our business has been successful because of regulars like yourselves not just coming back to us so often but also introducing so many friends and family to The Doonmore over the years.
Our family have built and maintained this business on the elements of good hospitality that you described. We know that while our job involves hard work it is a relatively simple one; to make sure each of our guests will enjoy their stay so much that they will want to come back again and again. Thank you both for being part of our story and for you and your family's continued support.
I and my family are very fortunate to have been referred to Murray's Doonmore Hotel Inishbofin way back just after it was built by Paddy & Margaret Murray in 1969. I always had an attraction to Islands but when I discovered Inishbofin and the Doonmore Hotel I recognised over 40 years ago that this was a very special place indeed and have been extolling it's virtues to anyone I bump into ever since. Murray's Doonmore from the very beginning have a reputation for a very warm welcome, spotless rooms, and lots of home cooked food with fresh Brown Bread and scones daily and local seafood, a great Bar with traditional music by local musicians . The Doonmore is located on an elevated site, 5 minutes from the Fery Pier, with spectacular views especially south to High Island Friar Island and the nearby Inniskinny Islands with its permanent Seal Colony. Murrays Doonmore is a great starting place for walks to a pepper and salt beach, soap stone quarry, Doonmore Cliffs, The Stags of Bofin and North Beach. Paddy and Margaret's son and daughter Andrew and his sister Aileen and excellent staff now carry on the excellent tradition in a very professional and friendly way.
Thank you for your very comprehensive review and it is great to know that people who have been coming to stay over such a long number of years can testify to the consistency of all that is good about The Doonmore over so many years.
We are, as you obviously know, very much a family run business, with several of the third generation of the Murray family working here at this stage. We are very conscious of staying true to the traditions laid down by our parents who set up the hotel in 1969. Traditions of great service, attention to detail and ensuring we do our level best to give our guests the best, most relaxed and carefree holiday they can have. We appreciate that people pay hard earned money for their holiday and if they choose to spend it in The Doonmore, then we want them to feel it is money well spent.
Thank you so much again for taking the time to write this review.

Thank you for your review. The title of your review says it all and you certainly seemed to get the essence of what The Doonmore is all about.
We put a huge emphasis on cleanliness, good food, good value and particularly on excellent service and customer care and we hope you come back again soon to see that none of that changes from year to year.
Thank you again for your review,
