“Peaceful and picturesque”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We really enjoyed our two night stay in the pretty harbour village. The rooms were very good value and the bar very cosy and warm, with an open fire. All the food we had was good. Will always remember the pretty view from the breakfast room. A trip to Inishbofin from the harbour is a must!

We stopped here based on the reviews, but left shortly afterwards, after reviewing the limited menu and the general run down look of the place which is less than presentable.

It may have been better than it looked, but first impressions do count.

This was the first time that I had stayed at Olivers, and it will not be my last. A weekend of Irish music, singing and dancing had been organised by Dusty Banjo's, with 2 sessions scheduled in Olivers. My room was clean and more spacious than I had expected, with ample towels and blankets available. The menu options if you wished to dine in, were very reasonably priced, and also included am option for the kids. The portions were ample, and tasty, and promptly served Throughout my stay, the staff were fabulous - attentive and welcoming. I had a wonderful night with Dusty's (thank you Heather and Mary !!)...and was especially impressed with the real interest Olivers has in promoting Irish music..plus the landlord can sing a healthy wealth of Christy Moore hits!! Looking forward to finding another excuse to come and visit :)

Had lunch there but the crabs claws with garlic lacked any taste of galic. The chicken sandwich was composed of very dry meat. Upholstry had seen better days long ago. Toilets in bad shape.

The owners are very friendly and make you feel right at home. As with any Irish B&B, you can barely fit in the shower but the room itself has a comfy bed and ample places to put your clothing. Breakfast is very good and hearty. They make you feel as though you are part of their family rather than a lodger. Highly recommend! It's also worth it to hang out in the pub and meet some of the local characters and enjoy the warm toasty fire that is always ablaze.
