We had a lovely time in Greene's Cottage with a heatwave at the start - it was our ideal location - peace & quiet yet easy access to the village for eating in the hotel or the wonderful Mylottes for supplies when eating in.
Great walking - although there were no marked paths the small roads were great - we had the local OS map which got us to lovely places - both sea and inland - the views were stunning.
The mini library was very good - though we didn't have too much time for reading.
Small minus point - obviously the photographs were taken some time ago and the bushes had grown up a lot obscuring the wonderful views - particularly of the seashore - perhaps a little cutting back of the bushes could be done.
We had a great week in this cottage, on the West coast of Co Galway. It is well-equipped and comfortable, and suited us well.
It's in a lovely position just outside the village of Carna - which is about 10 minutes away with bars, shops, and post office.
It was a great base for exploring the wonderful wild coast, mountains and lakes of Connemara. Within an hour or so we could drive to:
- Roundstone, a pretty coastal village with vegan menu at the cafe, and a very good pottery
- Galway City, for music bigger shops
- Kylemore Abbey, a fascinating estate open to the public
We had a great time here, and hope to go again some day
