Springlawn Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #3 of 4 Clarinbridge B&B and Inns

Maura was lovely and accommodating - our group filled all three of their rooms for the night, and it was cheaper and nicer than the place we had stayed the night before. She invited us in to watch a big football match with she and her husband when two of us arrived before the rest, and then let us put a bottle of champagne in her refrigerator and provided glasses for us later in the evening. She was endlessly helpful, breakfast was delicious and the neighborhood is adorable. The rooms themselves are perfectly fine: this is an older style of B&B than some of the swankier ones you'll find these days, but everything was clean and comfortable. I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a place to stay in the area.

The first time I visited Springlawn, the lovely home of Maura and Michael McNamara, I knew I'd be back any time I could return to Ireland. In June, I returned from my 5th visit. One of the things that makes it so special is Maura herself, she is so delightful and so much fun. Plus she can tell you where the action is on a given night, whether it be a 3 minute drive to Paddy Burke's or a 5 minute drive to Raftery's Rest where you will hear Billy & Company playing away in a "seisiun". It's a great location as well for trips to Galway City or Kinvera. Take a walk down the road which is lined with charming homes and ends at Galway Bay. Watch the sunset. Maura and Michael are such wonderful hosts from the warm welcome to the great breakfasts. And maybe you will be lucky and hear Maura play the accordion and Michael sing. You will feel that you are visiting with old friends. Treat yourself to "failteachais na h'Eireann iontach". Wonderful Irish Hospitality!

Like a previous reviewer, this was our second trip and we had no hesitation in booking this B & B. It was superb in 2009 and it is the same in 2013. Comfortable, welcoming, excellent breakfast, and peaceful. Having just read a couple of less complimentary reviews of this accommodation, I can only assume that the writers were actually staying somewhere else!

This was my second trip to Springlawn and I wondered if things were the same. No disappointment here. From the gracious greeting to a wonderful farewell, the Springlawn Bed & Breakfast was just fine. To start, this is an ideal location near so many attractions like Galway Bay. The rooms at Springlawn are quiet and restful. Very clean. And just wait until you see the breakfast served by the owner Maura. No corners cut or quality comprimised. Right to the last morsel, it is what you ordered and what you enjoyed. This is the bed and breakfast you read about and hope to experience. You feel so welcome the minute your greeted at the door.

The B&B is located in a nice and quite countryside, not far away from Galway and the highway to Dublin.

We stood in the place for four nights and enjoyed the stay a lot. The owners are very friendly and obliging. The rooms are comfortable with a nice and own bathroom. The breakfast is amazing and gave us the perfect start in the new day!!
From the B&B we did tours to the cliffs of Moher, the Burren national park, Limerick and the Connemara national parck, which is all quite close. Furthermore the beach is in a short walking distance from the place (but not so good for swimming).

We can highly recommend that place for people, who don't like to stay in a bigger city.

Try to picture this delightful B&B! 45 minutes from Doolin and minutes from the Burren. Less than an hour from the Cliffs of Moher and Poulnabrone dolmen. Less than an hour from Galway City and the north side of Galway Bay.All kinds of little roads which lead directly to Galway Bay!And a welcome which is as good as any in Ireland.Michael and Maura will welcome you at the door with "You are most welcome here!" and they mean it.You will be given fresh tea, scones, coffee and more.If you are lucky, Maura will play the accordion and Michael will sing. You will get the history and culture of the area from two experts.Ask about Eddie Stones, Clonmacnoise, best routes to Salthill and Barna, advice about Inishere, the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and more. They might suggest that you visit Jordan's or Patty Burke's or Clare and Martin Griffin at the very lovely antique store in town. Take their advice. Go to the Griffin's store!!They have all of your answers delivered with respect, knowledge, and courtesy. Above all, their welcome is as genuine as one will ever receive. The rooms are lovely. The lawn and grounds are immaculate. The breakfast is superb.Take a walk down to the water. You will love this home and these people!!I guarantee it!

We love visiting Galway and also Morans on the weir..We booked this BnB to stay close to Morans, which isn't as close as it seems on the map but a short drive away. On arrival the lady who looks after the BnB was very welcoming and pleasant but was surprised when she asked could she have a word and stated because we had booked three rooms and cancelled one I would have to pay €5 for the cancelled room. I had spoken to her earlier to explain why we had to cancel the third room in fact it was the day before and she had mentioned nothing. All was ok, we enjoyed a fab night in Morans and returned had an enjoyable evening in the BnB playing cards then retired. Breakfeast there was a feast I must say, lovely food but a little too much at times. Found the rooms a little outdated for what is charged there. On leaving there was no way I was leaving without handing over the €5 charge for the room, it was the elephant in the room as such..Because of this I would not be re-visiting the BnB I felt it a little rude of the lady to make such a fuss and awkwardness out of €5.It was not peak season so the room would very unlikely have been rented anyway.. I would say a good place to rest for the night, rooms were clean a little outdated, breakfeast great selection but a little too much. Hostess was a bit of a fail for me
