They are the only game in town, and actually give an all round great service. Found the staff helpful, funny and delightful all round, the bar staff were particularly good. Only issue I had was the lack of cakes of soap? Seems such a silly thing, but otherwise goog value for money and a great place to go.

Four of us stayed at the Aran Islands Hotel during May 2012, but this was the second stay at this hotel during the last year for two of us. We were practically the only guests because it was still a bit before high tourist season and on a Monday night. Also, because tourism was a bit down on the island due to the weather and the economy, the restaurant wasn't in operation although the bar was. The staff at the hotel treated us extremely well during our stay and this included setting up a tour of the island for us as well as making sure that all of our peculiar needs (early check in, baggage holding, use of their dining facility) were met with a smile. The rooms at the hotel are not 'posh' although they are nicely appointed with good beds, clean bathrooms, TV, self-serve coffee/tea, and a small safe. Aran Islands Hotel is a short walk (about 1/4 mile) from the port at Kilronan and the hotel looks out onto the small-but-picturesque bay. This hotel represents excellent value with our total for TWO rooms with an excellent full Irish breakfast at about 170 euro. It would be hard to beat this level of flexibility, comfort and convenience anywhere near the price. The only negatives worth mentioning were a lack of hot water in our shower (but not in the room next door) and a lack of 'blackout' draperies in the room which is really only a problem if you want to sleep well past sun up. Previously, we stayed on the top floor which had only skylights and it was a bit more restful up there, but the view from our rooms this time was quite nice. Overall our stay was great and we all agreed that this hotel was a great place to stay when visiting Inis Mor.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the rooms that looks onto the bay for a treat, but rooms on the top floor are better...

Enjoyed a really good time on InisMór at a family wedding in the Aran Islands Hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful and room was perfect for 5 inc. 3 children. Plenty of space for all - nice and airy with huge bathroom and blackout blinds so babies could have their nap in the afternoon. Food was great, the highlight being the fish and chips on our first night there.

We visited Inis Mor last week during our 15 day Irish holiday and had the pleasure of doing an overnight at the Aran Islands Hotel. Our anticipation was high as my mother-in-law said this was the part of our trip that she was most looking forward to. Niall and his staff were fabulous in assuring that we enjoyed our stay and treated us like family in their home.

We had a family suite which had a queen sized bed plus two twin beds. There was also a sitting area (couch and desk/chair) and a very spacious bathroom. My husband said it was the best shower he had in ten days!

That evening we enjoyed a nice Irish dinner in their pub/restaurant. Niall had told us that a roast was cooking for the evening meal, which is what two of us thoroughly enjoyed. I opted for the fish & chips which was probably the best of all of the fish & chips meals I/we had. Because this was our big slurge meal of the trip, we also indulged in some homemade desserts including an apple crumb cobbler and some small mini-cream puffs. Everything was delightful!

In the morning we had breakfast starting with some juice and fruit from the continental breakfast buffet area. A full Irish breakfast was served starting at 9:00am and was very good. After touring the island that day, we returned to take advantage of the complimentary WiFi that is available in the lobby and pub. It was nice to catch up with email and my blog posting before we boarded the 5p ferry back to the mainland.

Traveling with my elderly mother-in-law made some arrangements on this trip a bit of a challenge. Any challenges that I feared regarding staying a bit out from the main village (Kilronan) were put to rest when Niall said he could provide transportation at night or in poor weather. He was even so kind as to take us to the ferry port, which was reasonably within walking distance for most folks.

For folks reading this review, please know that this hotel property has undergone a change in ownership and management so many of the older poor reviews should be discounted. I spent a bit of time talking with Niall, one of the new owner/managers and can assure you, he is someone who understands the hospitality and tourist trade. He is committed to making his guests feel welcomed and confident in selecting their hotel for your special event or vacation.

I consider myself a pretty high maintenance guest when traveling and can be pretty demanding when it comes to quality and service. My stay at Aran Islands Hotel was about as perfect as one can expect and I will most definitely stay there again if I'm ever fortunate enough to return to Ireland in the future.

p.s. I rated the "sleep quality" as very good only because the beds were a tad bit firmer than I prefer but I did sleep very well. My MIL and hubby had nothing but "excellent" to say about their sleep quality!

We used the hotel as a base for our two days stay on Inis Mor. It is conveniently located to reach all parts of the island. The hotel itself was pretty standard, with big, clean albeit plain rooms. Always important when hiking: the shower had lasting hot water. Staff was friendly, breakfast Ok and the prize really good.

The staff at his hotel were very friendly and accommodating. We left our bags early in the day as we had an early flight, and checked in later in the afternoon after exploring the island. The room was quite spacious, and the bed fairly comfortable. However, there was only a couple of sachets of shower gel, no actual soap provided, so make sure you take your own.

Dinner was a simple affair, but tasty – we had a Cajun salmon (a welcome bit of spice) and a goat’s cheese salad. Quite pleasant, and the wine was palatable, too. After the meal we moved into the foyer area to get more reliable wifi reception, which was pleasant as we could still hear the live music and get some work done, too.

We were quite tired after a busy week and headed off to bed early (about 10:30pm). The other guests partied on for quite some time in the bar area, but luckily, we had a room at the end of a corridor, so we weren’t disturbed by either the music or the guests returning to their rooms.

The main problem we had with the hotel was a lack of hot water for showering. Other reviewers have mentioned 'luke-warm' water, but it really only felt luke-warm if using it in the sink, NOT the shower! I know that the place was only 3 star, but surely that should include hot water?

There were some issues with breakfast as well. If you are expecting a hot breakfast, that is not available until after 9am (and we had to leave for our flight at that time, so we couldn't partake of this). Another slight was offering a jug of cordial for breakfast, not juice.

For the price this is still a reasonable option on Inishmore, and the staff really are lovely. Just be aware of some of the things that may cause dissatisfaction.

Didnt get to stay here as they could only offer us one night of our two night stay, we were very glad we booked into a B & B (Seacrest) instead. The hotel is further out from the village than stated which is not a problem during the day but a bit of a walk at night. We ate here one night of our stay, the food was average, service very slow.

The evening entertainment on the Saturday night was very good, three young islanders, who played, sang and danced, The Mulkerrin Brothers, they did make up for the restaurant experience above.
