“Long history”

Na Seacht Teampaill (The Seven Churches)
Reviewed July 14, 2006

This was one of several stops on our mini-bus tour of Inis Mor. As with many old churches and monastic sites in Ireland, you must get over your phobia of stepping on graves, because you really can't enter the site otherwise. The cemetary has been in use for over 2000 years, and is still in use today, so it existed long before Christianity came to Ireland. The ruins of the monastery are interesting, though not spectacular, and try as we might, we couldn't count seven of them.
