“Clean and Pleasant”
Reviewed May 30, 2014

The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Our king-bed room was fairly small, and the bathroom was as tiny as could be and still fit a tub and toilet. But all was clean, and the furniture was modern-looking and in fairly good shape. The mattress on our bed was a bit spongier than we like, but that is a matter of personal preference. Our room had a large flat-screen TV and the cable service offered a good variety of channels to choose from. The room had a small frig (larger than some I've seen) but no microwave.

The hotel is comprised of two separate buildings, both of which have exterior corridors. The parking spaces are separated from the buildings by a driving lane, rather than being directly against the buildings. Thus, there is no covered area to walk between your room and your vehicle, or between the front building (lobby & breakfast area) and the back building. The back building is close to a railroad track, so it may be possible to hear a train sometimes. Our room was in the front building, and we did not hear the train at all. In fact, even though the hotel was completed booked for the night of our stay, it was very quiet.

The only negative aspect of our visit was that the Wi-Fi signal did not reach our room. We were only three rooms away from the lobby, where the hot spot resided. As I walked with my tablet from our room to the lobby, the signal eventually appeared and grew stronger, until it reached full strength in the lobby. Thus I was able to use the Wi-Fi in the lobby, but not in our room. The check-out staff were surprised when we told them we had trouble, as this apparently is not normal.

We did not stay for breakfast, but I glanced at the breakfast area on our way out. All I saw were muffins and other breads, a waffle maker, and coffee. There may have been a few more items that I missed, but all in all, it looked pretty small.

We would definitely stay here again.

There are several stores and restaurants nearby, including a Wal-mart. Just down the road (south of the hotel) is a fantastic Mexican restaurant called Casa Del Sol, which serves freshly made salsa - the best I've ever had.

Room Tip: A train track runs near the back of the property. If you think the train noise might bother you, as...

The motel isn't fancy, but you couldn't ask for any motel to be any cleaner or more comfortable. Towels were a little rough, but I'm sure I could have paid $100/night higher somewhere else for soft ones. Even though doors opened to the parking lot, they felt safe/secure. Very quiet area. Breakfast was fresh and good. Everything was spotless, well kempt, everything in good working order, landscaping well groomed. We never saw the first "bug" inside or out. Our flat screen TV, air conditioner, coffee pot, and refrigerator all worked well and were fairly new. Front desk employees, Winnie & Candy, really made us feel special, like we were their only patrons. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Location very good for us. Close to Amish community, flea markets, David Crockett State Park. Lots of well-known stores nearby, too. Great place! Will definitely stay again. Definitely worth the price.

We spent a few days at the Richland Inn to visit the Amish community in Ethridge and the Mule Days in Columbia. It was amazing at the price difference 30 some odd miles made in the price of the room. We had very accommodating employees, the rooms were nice with a balcony where we could visit with our friends that came with us. It is in a nice location at the end of town with easy access to all we needed during our visit. The continental breakfast area was clean and the breakfast bar was well stocked. While we were eating one morning I noticed that if they did run out of something on the breakfast bar they would refill it instantly. If that wasn't what you wanted right across the street was a Shoney's, nice mexican resturant right down the street and it was close enough for delivery if that's what you wanted. We stay here each time we go up and will continue to do so in the future.

I have stayed here before and it's always clean and everything works. It is an older motel but they have upgraded the TV's and Air Conditioners in the last few years, plus they added refrigerators in the room which is nice.
It's not like staying in a full service hotel, but for the price it is certainly worth it. Good breakfast and the staff is always helpful

This property is old and needs some serious updating. My room had a king-sized bed, microwave, fridge, desk and free Wi-Fi. Room was clean. Pillows were flat. Entrance is from parking lot, and I was not particularly comfortable with this. TV was out of date with limited TV stations, but it worked. Bathroom was small, and soap bars were very hard and crumbled in my hand. Towels and wash cloths were very stiff and rough. Staff was very nice and helpful. Will probably stay at another hotel when I'm in the area.

We came into to town about 7:00 P.M. Was greeted with a smile and we got one of the cleanest rooms I have stayed in. They had the best price and a good breakfast. We will stay there again. I would recommend it.

We stayed at this hotel and we loved it. It was the best price out of 3 hotel in town. Very freindly staff with nice waffel breakfast. I was suprised the the hotel was almost full on a tuseday evening. Will saty there again when I go back to visit Amish country at Ethridge again.
