There is fishing, hiking, boating, and beautiful trails to walk. There is lots of picnic tables with barbecues at each of them. There is a playground for kids and also a huge public pool. There is also very nice camping grounds for campers. It a great place if you love nature and the outdoors

My wife and I decided to spend a romantic weekend in one of the Davey Crockett state park's cabins.
For the price ($200 a night) I would have expected to be able to use the fireplace and be able to adjust the thermostat to our comfort level.
We almost froze to death the first night because the thermostat adjusted itself to 50 degrees at midnight and we had no way to over ride it. The fireplace was locked OFF until October.
The cabins are located with mere FEET of each other. The cabin next door's front door was right outside our bedroom window. Talk about awkward.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere run by people who are in the cabin business.
