For a 4* hotel the quality of food and service was brutal. We stayed during the Darts grand prix. The hotel was very busy and as the darts event was on all week i'm sure they were busy all week. The cooked breakfast was of very poor stanard and the orange juice was watered down so much that it didn't taste of orange. I don't care if the hotel is full and busy all week long but at the very least the quality of food should not have been comprised. There was no need to water down the orange juice and you wonder what other short cuts were taken. We had paid well for it. The price of drink is something else. Mark up was not needed as they did a mint on the boozers. Check out is at eleven am.... a little early on a weekend.

The halls are very noisy at night time with people coming back to there rooms at all times of the night.

The room itself was lovely but strange that there was no shower gel but they had a sewing kit...feast or famine! There was also no face clothes which are standard at very hotel.
The Key cards also didn't work and a lot of people were having the same problems. All in all I was looking forward to staying here and I left very disappointed. Never to return.

We stayed here on the Sunday night of the All Ireland football final, attended the Down team banquet & the service was terrible, for a dinner that was supposed to be served at 2030hrs I thought it was a bit of a joke to be getting our main course at 2320hrs.
We had a late night & decided to get our breakfast delivered to our room at the last available time so we could have a lie-in, we were wakened at 0820hrs by the phone in our room ringing, this was a receptionist ringing to inform us that they were too busy to offer a room service facility, joke if you ask me, the cooked breakfast incidentally was awful to say the least.

Citywest is a comfortable hotel with great leisure facilities. The staff were helpful and breakfast was good.
However our weekend break was ruined by thoughtless, extremely noisy ,drunken guests in the early hours of the morning who were returning to their rooms. We did not get asleep until 5am with all the noise, screaming, fighting and shouting. What a nightmare night !!!
The problem with this hotel is the clientele. Avoid it if you need your sleep.
Citywest could be great if management tackled the late night noise problem.

We stayed here for a wedding and it really is a hotel geared towards functions and leisure guests. It would certainly not be ideal for visitors unless someone maybe wanted to play golf while a partner went into tow.

The hotel is very large and the long empty corridors can seem eerie. It also means there is quite a walk to the rooms/lifts.

Our room was huge with excellent facilities - hairdryer, iron and ironing board, tea, coffee and biscuits. hangars, etc but strangely with no shower gel.... There was body lotion, shampoo, sewing kit etc but no showergel which was odd. The bath and shower were both excellent and easy to control with loads of hot water. Room temperature can also be controlled.

The tv pixilated a lot and the remote was also a bit hard to control but it was the pixilation which was more irritating.

We didn't eat at the bistro but friends did and thought it was just average. We ate at the nearby Lemongrass Asian restaurant (located almost next door in the Citywest Golf Hotel) which was lovely and good value.

Breakfast was ok but a bit disappointing in places. The cereals were ok, fresh fruit (melon, watermelon., pineapple, bananas etc) very good but there was a very limited bread/pastry choice. The cooked breakfast was fine but on our second morning, we had to wait ages for bacon and they had run out of hash browns and mushrooms.

Staff varied from excellent (wish I had noted names but there was a lovely gentleman and a lovely attentive waitress on our first breakfast morning) to very mediocre. On the second morning, we had to get our own tea and coffee because nobody was serving but then staff kept getting annoyed when we did this. We also had no milk on our table and it took a few minutes to get a member of staff to help us. This was a particularly busy morning so that probably did affect things.

check-in and check out as others have said is efficient but not friendly. We were given minimal details and to go back to ask for information. The system seems to vary - I had to give my credit card up front for authorisation - I don't like that as I am always nervous in case hotels don't cancel that initial run (although I haven't actually had any problems yet with this). but had to pay when we left. Friends had to pay it all upfront upon arrival. For us, this would have been a better option as there was a huge queue when we were checking out and there is an express facility if you pre-pay but we weren't given the option.

All in all, a lovely hotel although room decor is a bit OTT for my personal taste. If you get the 88 euro deal, it is well worth the money.

We stayed in the Citywest Hotel for one night for a wedding. It is a very large modern hotel with a lot of facilities though it felt impersonal as a result.

Our room was a decent size, well furnished and clean. However we had a very disturbed night from the repeated banging of room doors down the corridor as late night guests returned to their bedrooms. For some reason, the door closing mechanism on guest room doors wasn't cushioned so the doors slam when closing. Breakfast was a disappointment for a four star hotel - we joined a queue of 20 people to collect our breakfast and then found a seat around one of many large circular tables of about 12 people each - far more like a works canteen than a restaurant.

As the hotel is located outside of Dublin it is difficult but not impossible to reach by public transport. The number 69 bus stops outside the hotel - though it takes about an hour to reach Dublin centre.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for one night as we have always heard such great things about this hotel. 88 euro bed and breakfast we couldnt go wrong. On arrival the blonde receptionist with the foreign accent was efficient with check in - mainly because she never informed us about check out time, amenities in the hotel or asked how our day was going. She was quick to ask for our payment on arrival! Room was nice, spacious, clean, bathrooms were nice, we were impressed by the jacuzzi button in the baths, it was a simple touch but something different than in normal hotels. We used the leisure centre, bit suprised that the sauna, steamroom and jacuzzi were located in different areas - they were not unisex which meant we could not relax in them together and enjoy each others company (that was the purpose of the visit!). Pool was nice though. Following morning we mislaid our breakfast cards that we needed to get our inclusive breakfast. We asked the receptionist, who was a pregnant lady with a foreign accent, could we have two more cards as we had mislaid them. We apologised but her response was a sigh and a look up to heaven! However she gave us the breakfast cards and headed up to the breakfast room. Nice setup, easy to get what you want. We were served by an older gentleman, it was obvious he has been in this industry for a quite a while as he was very friendly and helpful. Only staff member we met who was happy to help us and ask us how we were. I had a bad burn on my finger and he kindly got me some cooling gel for it and some coolant bandages. I am in the hotel industry myself and its disappointing to stay in such a nice hotel with a good location and the service being poor. Saying that the room and value was great so i would stay here again.
