Reviewed May 12, 2014

My husband has stayed here many times for business so we decided to bring the kids for the night. Hotel in great location near to the Luas and the lovely Citywest Shopping area. Checked into hotel late afternoon - hotel was extremely busy with several communions. We were given the location of our room on the 4th floor, however we went to the lift it was out of order. We had to walk down this very very long corridor to try and find an alternative lift - it was like a scene out of "The Shining". We evenutally found the lift and proceeded to our room. when we got out at our floor there were no markers or indicators for the room numbers. We went down yet another long corridor only to be lost. We eventually found a telephone and had to call reception to be rescued. The Concierge arrived and then told us we took the wrong direction from the lift - great detective work sherlock - would have helped to have some plaques on the wall. Got to our room which was fine. This room had obiously at one stage been a double and single and was now being sold as a family room with an additional single bed thrown in (the double bed was moved away from the head board and you couldnt use one side of the double bed as the single was squashed up against it.) Dissapointed to learn that the leisure centre closed at 5pm and the kids couldnt go for a swim. Had dinner in the Bistro which was very lovely and quite reasonably priced, and food was well presented and tasty. Lounge of the hotel was packed and very difficult to get a seat away from the bar area with the kids. We retired to our room around 9.30pm and then the most awful thing happened. Our kids bounced over the tops of the beds to the window ledge (single bed right up agains it) and managed to ope the window all the way out - 4 floors up!!!!. I immediately went to main reception and spoke with hotel manager. Very pleasant gentleman, listed to our conerns and within 10 minutes had maintenenace come to our room and remove the handle from the window. About 30 minutes later we were disturbed for the next 2 hours with screaming and shouting from the teenagers in the room next door, continually slamming doors and running up and down the corridors. Breakfast the following morning was a bit dissapointing. We were ushered into the middle dining room (just after 8am), where food was very low and hot items very very limited. However in the first dining room we passed through had more food options, baskets of fresh food and more availability. We went swimming in the health centre which is detached from the hotel - weather not great - facilities lovely but a little tlc with decor required. I would be very reluctant to return hear anytime soon.

i stayed here for the wolfe tones weekend fest an if there were any points that i had to make there could be only 2
1)by the time i reached my room it felt like i had walked miles,i was nackered by tuesday
2)a wee courtesy car to shuttle people to and from the tram station wouldnt have gone amiss.
An absolute brilliant hotel and ill take my hat off to the security who did a fantastic job over the weekend.
I would definately stay at this hotel again

Stayed at Citywest for the Wolfe Tones Fest over Easter Weekend. Brilliant stay. The hotel was really busy but it didn't affect the excellent customer service. Bar service, food, reception - everything was great. Rooms were lovely, clean and well equipped.
Great music at the concerts too. Would definitely visit again.
Also Luas tram terminal close by, excellent for a trip into the city.

Stayed here for one night while attending a show at the hotel. Despite the fact that the hotel was very busy (the girl at reception told me that nearly all 800 rooms were booked out) , check in was efficient, there were plenty of staff and the girl we got on on reception was very friendly. Our room was lovely, good sized bed , which was comfortable, and plenty of towels and toiletries provided in the bathroom. For 61 euro for the room, i thought the hotel was excellent value.
Was amazed at the sheer size of the hotel - put your walking shoes on to walk to the car park and to your room! Didnt eat at the hotel so cannot comment on food but did buy two soft drinks from vending machine at a hefty price of 6 euro!!

Room Tip: a room near the front of the hotel will save a long trek to your room!

We stayed three nights, we visited the Punchestown races on Friday, and did some touring around Dalkey, Enniskerry, Glencullen for the remaining days. The hotel is very big, which takes away the personal touch, but any staff we met were helpful and friendly, Dean in particular was very helpful. The leisure facilities are very good with separate Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steamrooms for both sexes!!!
