Just returned from a weekend stay there and we found the hotel to be very nice overall. The only negatives about the hotel are its sprawling size & the sheer volume of people bustling around the hotel. If this doesn't bother you then Citywest is the place to stay. Rooms were very nice (a bit of a trek though) Breakfast was tasty.
The bar area has a good atmosphere & we found the leisure facilities to be of a very good standard.
Good value for money & would stay again.

We just returned from a 2 night stay in the City West. I have no gripe really with the hotel but moreso with the restaurant. We were on a package deal which included B&B plus a 3 course evening meal. Turned out it was a set menu on this package. We really felt like second class citizens on the "Titanic". My daughter wanted cheese on her burger which we were told was extra, plus RAW onions which were extra also. The waitress which I might add was a lovely bubbly young girl said she'd try to get them included, didn't make one bit of difference either way but come on.. you'd buy a net of onions for 35c.. Anyway the onions came back cooked which she wouldn't eat. My starter which was pate with orange sauce had NO orange sauce, bread half burnt.. burnt side down.. My potatoes felt like they were re-heats from the previous day, and I had some kind of mixture of vegs with my chops and all I could taste was tinned tomatoes. I couldn't help but feel the other diners on the NON-PACKAGE DEAL were having none of these issues. The kids ice-cream had all lumps of ice in through it which my 7 yr old pointed out. In all the whole experience with the restaurant left a bad taste in our mouths. My husband who likes his food and was looking forward to something different and tasty ended up with a burger and chips so he wasn't a happy camper either. I think alot of the issues above fall at the chefs feet. All in all I have no faults with any other area of the hotel, staff were very pleasant and everything was sparkling clean, but for the restaurant itself on the package meal deal it might be no harm to brush up on the small things.

Just returned back from couple of night at the Citywest, We had a wonderful stay from the moment we arrived,
Room was spacious and spotless, and bed was so so comfy,
Did not have the chance to check leisure facilities myself, but my partner did and was pleasantly impressed.
Both nights decided to dine at the hotel as after long day of shopping it did not appeal to be travelling to dine out,
Food was tasty and simple, could have more variety, as there was only one vegetarian main course option, but it did not bother us to much,
Breakfast was your standard fried + cold buffet,
Will definitely be back, as found the hotel to be ideally located to do some shopping at the outskirt shopping complex

Stayed here with work colleagues earlier in January, the hotel is set in beautiful grounds, and the building itself is very grand, unfortunately the new extensions look fake and cheap and try to be from a period they're not.
The staff were all very friendly, except for the baggage handlers at the reception who were abrupt and unprofessional, I was shown to a tatty hallway and left to search for my own bag, it was very busy but still not good enough.
Rooms were clean, but tight with a double and two singles, one too many beds in a room, and dated.
Breakfast was stunning with a lovely continental and full Irish buffet. Waitresses were all very pleasant and smiley!
Overall very good and would most definitely stay again!

Room Tip: Try to avoid the top floor as they're built into the roof and ceilings are low in places

We stayed here whilst attending an event held within the hotel's conference centre. The staff were pleasanet, the food was good especially the breakfast which had a large range of items to choose from & our room was clean & well presented & overall i think that it was excellent value for money.

Stayed here on Friday night, complete with dinner and breakfast next morning. Room was perfect - non smoking area - it would appear that a lot of hotels have non smoking rooms close to, or side by side with smoking rooms - but not this one! I could not fault the room in the least. Spacious, comfortable, spotless. A 'real' hairdryer which could be taken out and plugged in somewhere else!

Food in the bistro was outstanding - on the recommendation of Saoirse our waitress I went for the fish starter - blew me away! Steak was also done to perfection - just couldn't have been better. The only thing that outshone the food was indeed Saoirse who was very knowledgeable - pleasant - funny - and just seems like such a genuine person who loves her job - a rarity in these days.

Breakfast the next morning - again - couldn't be faulted - lots of staff on attendence - plenty of food, continuously being refreshed and replaced - honestly - if I could move in here, I absolutely would.

Gym in the hotel is excellent too. - facilities are fantastic.

City West is a typical Irish Boom hotel.
It seems to have got a very poplar name amongst famous people, businesses and large sports clubs. Not really sure where it got the name, it mightjust be because it has a heli pad outside.
In truth the hotel is not that bad, the complex is huge and there are two hotels on the same complex. The deals in the hotel are quite good - my understanding is NAMA now owns the hotel.
The food in the bar and resturant is ok, there are some special deals to be had. They have a Lemon Grass on site which is good value. We have kids and I ordered a take away and brought it up to the room - which was pretty helpful.
In the last year or so the LUAS extension was built to City West which connects City West through the centre of Dublin right up to the O2 which is helpful if your looking for somewhere to stay and going to a gig.
The staff are nice and friendly.
Yor room could be anywhere, think ours was a five min walk from reception.
The food is ok,but there are plenty of options close by - Browns Barn for example.
It is reasonably close (10-15 min walk) to the Luas stop.
It is quite reasonable if your on a budget.
