“A Tapas Bar with Quality Wine and super Staff. Well worth a visit.”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

We arrived after a tough day out on a Client's site. All we wanted was to drop and relax with good food, wine, surroundings and service. This Tapas Bar had it all, bustling when we arrived, we were ushered upstairs to quiet table where we could talk in peace. The attentive staff did the most important thing first - take our wine order. We ordered a lovely Rioja Crianza (well it was tapas after all) and were really pleased with its quality. Whilst waiting for the wine we looked through the menu and selected Crab Claws (delicious), meatballs (succulent), Chorizo Potatoes (spicy bulk), Scallops (mouth watering), Calamari (tender), and Pichcho Moruno (delightful port skewers). All in all mouthwatering.
We sat, talked, ate and drank over the next few hours until we were the only people left in the restaurant. We finally prised ourselves away after having had a really enjoyable evening after a really hard day. Well done - we will be back!

“Nice wine bar”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

Pleasant wine bar in the middle of Dalkey with good tapas and wine. Portions are generous, wine choice good and service decent. The bar itself was busy and had a nice atmosphere. Good option.

“Location, Atmosphere, Food - Bang on”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

The atmosphere here is lovely and it's one of the few proper wine bars I now of in this area. They open late and i've only previously been here for late drinks and was always drooling over the menu.

SO we finally got to check it out - The food is a little different - somewhere between traditional tapas and grill.

For starters we had the Scallops (a little small) and the tortilla (yum). Followed by the Flash Grilled Feather steak, which seems to be a specialty. The steak is served medium only and even though I usually like my steak pretty rare but it was amazing with a side of rocket and an incredible spicy tomato salsa. We had the chorizo potatoes on the side (big juicy lumps of chorizo).

For dessert we had the Banofee Pie and the Chocolate Fondant - I have to say this is the BEST banofee pie I've had anywhere.

We had a bottle of Rioja and two espressos to finish and including 12% tip it amounted to about €108.00.

The staff are really friendly and there's a great laid back atmosphere. The clientele ranged from smoochy couples to larger groups.

The DART is just around the corner although it called for a 2 k walk home afterwards to walk off a little of the fullness.

Highly recommend the place.

“Tasty Sunday dinner”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

We arrived at the Dispensary without a booking on a Sunday evening and were warmly welcomed. The choice of food was not expansive or expensive but what we did get was lovely tasting food. My wife had "catch of the day" and I had a chicken and chorizo skewers. The atmosphere was really nice as well, the majority of tables were taken and the comfy setting lending itself well to the food and drink on offer. Definitely worth a visit.
