From the main street it looks old and small but once you go down the alley way you see the grand hotel . We walked in to the reception and my wife was impressed. The Bedrooms we spacious and bright. The food was excellent , maybe to much but that is not a complaint. The staff are very personal and helpful . We had a 2 night break and it was good value and worth the visit. McElhinneys Department store in same town well worth a visit.

We stayed for a week in late July for a family wedding (at Kee's!!)
Room was a good size and very clean and comfortable--only issue was that it was very warm and had no air con---but why would it need it for the 3 decent days Ireland gets in a year!!
Staff were very professional and courteous, especially reception ,who couldn't do enough for us. Also we used and thoroughly enjoyed the Spa--good value and well maintained.
Entertainment in the bar was a bit hit and miss but it didn't really bother us.
Food and service were very good. Breakfast all week was first class. Only dined once and it was excellent.
Seemed to be a wedding on most days and you could get 'caught up' in the party in the large reception hall--no big deal though. No issues with noise that concerned us.
Outlook/view from hotel is not the best---overlook either the car park and some pretty run down commercial units or the back of the football ground. Plusses far out weigh the minuses though--we didn't go to look out the window!
Ballybofey itself is quite a quiet town but the 'locals' were really welcoming and very friendly.
Would certainly go back
Thanks!!

Room Tip: Get 2nd floor and not over the function hall--avoid noise form wedding parties

Just returned from a week-end stay at Villa Rose hotel; it is a very nice hotel
The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. We had dinner in the Faro
Restaurant and the food was excellent, The staff were very friendly and helpful
nothing was too much bother to them
The only downer was there was no pool, when we booked it on the internet we
were sure there was a pool but apparently there is a steam room and hot tub.
As we had 2 children with us we went round to Jacksons Hotel (just around the corner
from Villa Rose) and had a swim there. We also got a great deal at this hotel E79 euro
for a family room breakfast included . Will definitely return to this hotel

My son and I stayed here for 3 nights from 12-15 Aug 13. I had been a little worried reading a few of the other reviews but was pleasantly surprised. We arrived and were swiftly checked in by a friendly staff member. Our room was very large, light and airy with fab wifi access and complimentary water, tea and coffee was a nice touch. All staff were very friendly especially a lovely guy in the bar who gave my son a complimentary hot chocolate while I enjoyed a glass of wine. As my son was 11 he stayed in my room for free ( very very good value) and he even got his breakfast as well with me each morning at no extra cost. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other people.
The V spa was fabulous and I have stayed in 5* star hotels in Dubai and Istanbul and the spa here really measured up. It is in a really good location and I have nothing but good to say about the entire experience. I will definitely return to this hotel.

We had a great deal for 2 nights bed and breakfast in the villa rose on the 11th and 12th Aug and were staying for our wedding anniversary. The main hotel which is across from the main street entrance was fantastic and the forge bar where we had lunch on the Sunday was great, the staff were so friendly and helpful, everyone from reception to housekeeping and all the bar staff were lovely. The only things stopping me from giving this an excellent rating were the small tv in the room and the fact that bar food was only being served in the small front bar on the Monday evening and not in the forge bar, and there is very limited seating so we couldn't manage to get a table. The people of ballybofey are so friendly and welcoming we had a great time in some of the local bars where the craic was amazing! Will definitely be coming back.

We were staying at this hotel as friend was getting married here! It cost €170 a night b&b and wasn't worth it to be honest! The room was big and bathroom was nice but not worth the money! It was an extremely warm weekend! There was no air con in the room! The only way I would stay here again was If it was on special offer! Too expensive for what it was!

To all the staff at the villa rose, thankyou so much for making our wedding on the 18th July the best day of our lives! From the minute we booked our wedding to the day we left the hotel the service we received was top class. Nothing was too much trouble and Rhonda the wedding co-ordinator was with us every step and saw to it that every thing we asked for was accounted for. All our guests have commented on how great the good was and how attentive the staff were. Everybody had a wonderful time. Thankyou so much, we just wish we could do it all again.
