Stayed in this hotel before a few times before the new extension and V-Spa! Still believe its the best on offer in Ballybofey and a great Hotel in Donegal. The staff are all friendly and welcoming which is important to me.

The food was great and the restaurant very comfortable, there was a great atmosphere and plenty of space between tables. Special mention to Michelle for looking after us in the restaurant! We were surprised to find a wireless "waiting" device on our table, at a push of a button staff are informed that you require service, great idea and one i haven't seen anywhere before!

There was a wedding on but we were given a room on the 2nd floor and had a goods nights sleep with no interuptions, just check before you book and everything should be fine!

The V-Spa was great and we came out very relaxed without the need for a paid treatment , cant wait to go back again! Only thing is when we arrived at opening time at 10am on the Sunday morning we noticed used tealights scattered around the spa, it would have been a nicer touch if these had been renewed and lit. There were also small personal items left beside the jacuzzi from the day before ie a hair band and a plaster which should have been disposed off by staff before the spa opened again.

The breakfast was great, nice cooked breakfast with the usual cereals, juice etc and served in the nice restaurant. One minus though was the service at breakfast. The wireless "waiting" device didn't get us a coffee refill and the two members of staff seemed to keep dissapearing into the kitchen leaving us and others waiting for service for what seemed a considerable amount of time.

Other than a few minus points I have mentioned I feel the Villa Rose is a great Hotel and hopefully we will be back soon!

Room Tip: Ask if there is a wedding on. If you would like a quiet room staff should be able to advise

Stayed for two days a lovely corner room with a huge bed. A good 4 star room very modern and well appointed. The hotel is not picturesquely situated but inside is well designed the staff were just really straightforward, genuinely warm and helpful.
The restaurant was well designed and service was good. It was a standard menu the same both nights steaks, ham ribs, chicken. Tasty and huge portions.
to repeat a tip we got from another review don't try to drive directly through the archway into the car park its narrow to the extent I backed out and went round the back - by Jacksons Hotel

My new wife and i decided to go on a camping honeymoon around Donegal as we are planning a big trip in a few months but couldn't resist a touch of luxury for two nights.

The Villa Rose excelled in the form Fara restaurant, the staff couldn't have been nicer and the food was amazing.

The V spa for me was great but my wife had massage therapist with a cold and spent the whole time sniffing back the running nose.

there was a wedding on both nights, and as we are recently married can understand how its a once in a life time event but on one of the nights the wedding had it all screams, foul language and verbal fights and on the other night it was tamer but still managed to last until the wee small hours. i can understand that this has nothing to do with the hotel and their staff but i think it is something you should be aware of.

We stayed here for 3 nights from 16th August. The hotel was lovely and spotless clean. Our room was spacious and beautifully cleaned every day. The food in the restaurant was also very good, could'nt complain at all. We went to the hotels Forge bar every night and enjoyed the pints of Guinness. Also tried out the V Spa and fould it really refreshing. We also had a back massage and felt 10 years younger. Not a lot in Ballybofey but liked it ok. A good base to tour from. McElhenneys was an excellent store to shop in. We will definitely be back next year. (Jim and Bridgeen Rea Belfast)
