Joe and Noreen are a mine of information about the locality and will make your stay in Timoleague that bit more special. Not only is their Bed and Breakfast really homely and welcoming, it is the perfect place to hear/read about the vicinity and what are the must-sees. Thanks to them we got to properly appreciate Timoleague and its rich history and culture. Breakfast was divine too!!

This was our first trip to Ireland. We came to see the Notre Dame - Navy football game and then drive around the countryside for a week. Our first night on the road was the Kilcatten Lodge B&B...what a treasure! Joe and Noreen Sweetnam welcomed us with open arms and immediately made us feel part of their wonderful family. Their home is absolutely beautiful and sits in a beautiful rural setting. The rooms were outstanding and the breakfast was delicious. What really makes this place such a treasure is the hospitality of Joe and Noreen. After coming home from a great dinner at the Pink Elephant we came back and a lovely conversation with Joe and Noreen in their living room. Joe brought out some beers and in short time we felt like we had known them forever. They say if you want to really know a country you need to know the people. Well, thanks to the Sweetnams, we will always have a special place in our hearts for them and for Ireland.

On our first trip to Timoleague we struck it lucky when we stayed at Kilcatten Lodge. Joe and Noreen were extremely friendly and helpful hosts.
The house and grounds were very beautiful. Our room with ensuite was very specious and comfortable. The full Irish breakfast with home made bread and scones was delicious.

I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone. And thanks again to Noreen and Joe for taking such good care of us.

We stayed at Kilcatten Lodge when visiting Timoleague for a friend's wedding and were blown away by the friendly hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts, who offered to drop my boyfriend down to the village pub while I was getting ready, lend us their own shampoo etc as I'd forgotten mine, were quite lineant with check out / breakfast times given that we'd have a late night and really accommodating when we we ended up using the thrid bed in the room for a friend who hadn't somewhere to stay - really lovely.
The rooms were tastefully decorated, really well appointed with comfy beds and a great shower.
Breakfast was delicious and it was almost hard to pick from the vast choice between full Irish, French toast, American pancakes etc. etc. They were all cooked to perfection and all guests in the breakfast room were raving about it.
The area around them is absolutely stunning and anyone looking for a relaxing break with country walks and beautiful scenery needn't look any further.

Clean, modern, friendly, relaxing, scenic reasonably priced base for exploring ,by foot or transit, the lovely surrounding countryside, & having meals at Dillons. Enjoyed the Timoleague Harvest Festival during my eight day stay. Look forward to going again, and seeing Noreen, Joe, Ellen & kids.
