Had a fantastic stay with the girls. Such a beautiful magical place. Would love to go back. There was everything we needed for our stay. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for something a little different. We stayed in the actual castle but looked around the coach houses which were also fab and probably more family friendly.

Looking at pictures of Ballyhannon Castle and Coach House on line really do not do it justice, seeing really is believing .We had the pleasure of staying there for a two night girly weekend renting both the Castle and the Coach House which was the best of both worlds. On entering the Castle you get the amazing feeling of how life was in a real castle. Maintaining the authentic feeling of a Castle but at the same time having home comforts is not a easy mix to obtain but here at Ballyhannon it is just perfect. The large banquette table in the castle was perfect for formal dining with candles lighting to create a medical atmosphere. The Coach House for casual entertaining with the large sun room is beautiful on a sunny day. A stay at Ballyhannon should be up on your wish list of things to do for sure.

Room Tip: Note for any ladies staying in Castle, flat shoes are a must for the winding stone stairs especially...

We recently rented Ballyhannon Castle and Coach House for 2 nights to hold a party for my sister. While we had viewed pictures of the Castle prior to our arrival, none of them fully capture the authenticity of the Castle. Many places market their property as castles, but this is a 'proper' castle with thick stone walls and a winding candle lit stair case. We had evening banquets in the castle and al fresco lunches at the Coach House. All accommodation was clean and comfortable, with all modern needs catered for in the midst of a medieval setting. This really was a once in a lifetime experience that I would highly recommend.

We enjoyed a fantastic and memorable stay at the Coach House at Ballyhannon Castle! The surrounding landscape was so picturesque and the accommodations were clean, comfortable and steeped in medieval ambiance. Our hosts, Margaret, Liam and their beautiful children, Aron and Leah, were so welcoming, helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to ensure our stay was the best (we arrived to a pot of freshly brewed coffee and a loaf of brown Irish soda bread... certainly a welcome treat after a long flight). The superb location of Ballyhannon Castle offered us the opportunity to travel to many extraordinary sights (e.g. Cliffs of Moher, Galway, Ennis, Rock of Cashel, etc) all within a reasonable distance. Our family highly recommends a stay at Ballyhannon Castle while visiting Ireland. It will be an experience that will create lifelong memories of the beauty of a land so rich in tradition and good- hearted souls!

I was fully satisfied with my stay at this Castle for 3 nights in late March 2012. I only wish we could have stayed a bit longer, as this was a very unique place. It has the right amount of new world features such as electric blanks for toasty warm beds while it maintains an authentic Castle feel with the a great sitting room, dining room and who could forget the spiral stairs. When this place is illuminated by candle light it has a magical feel. I hope to stay here again in the future.

Ballyhannon Castle was everything we thought a medieval experience would be. From the stone walls and floors to the antique furniture, you just can't help but love it. We were a group if ten people and it fit us comfortably. Each day we went out on our adventures then returned to the castle, stoked the fire and retired for good conversation and a glass of wine in the large family room on the 3rd floor!

The owners are very kind and attentive, making sure we had what we needed. I can't wait to go back!

we had a great time at Ballyhannon. of course it is a castle, so i was expecting a little cold and damp, but it was more comfortable than i expected. the owners are very nice and accomidating. we would like to return someday. during our 3 night stay, we basically stayed there at night and did day trips during the day, if i could do it again i would spend more time at the castle.

Room Tip: the top room is dark, if you want to sleep in- choose the top floor.
