Lots of views, small places to visit. Careful driving! The small towns are the only places to go for food and bathrooms, etc.

Fantastic views along the coast and in the interior (not far from the coast). Be sure to pull over and into the view points or along the coast, roads are very narrow. Definitely worth seeing, but it is a large area, so make sure you pick the things you want to do (like visit Poulnabrone). After a bit, it can get somewhat monotonous, so don't spend tons of time (like more than a day).

Well if I knew what walking on the moon was like. We visited the open burren part by the burial site.I was amazed at the tiny flowers that bloomed between the rocks. My friends walked way off the path and enjoyed a different and spiritual experience among the rock formations. Busloads of people from all around the world stopped by to take photos. The sky cleared and we got some beautiful photos. I would like to come back and stay longer and visit all the Burrens.

Unique limestone landscape with gorgeous flora.
Guides from the Heritage Centre in Corofin have transport to take you there and give a commentary if asked.

Didn't get to hike around the Burren myself, but others in my party did and said it was lovely. We did drive up to the ancient burial tombs and walked around that area - truly breathtaking. The flora and fauna to be found between the rocks in the burren is reason enough to go - not another place in the world like this that I'm aware of. Worth a visit if you're in/near County Clare for sure!
