Went here on two occasions. First was with my friend. I got vol au vont. Took ages for someone to give us a menu. Took another while to order. Place was cold. Was dirty. Was very quiet. Vol au vont came out four small ones. Was cold had to send back. Went in other evening. Wanted vol au vont. Wasnt any there! Was not impressed. Also had no caesar salad. ??? I dunno haha.

Brought friends for a meal here last night, 3 of us had Crispy Duck salad with citrus and chilli dressing (it was a starter but we asked for it as a main) and our other friend had chicken Caesar salad also as a main. Well, all the plates were practically licked clean. There are no words to describe the deliciousness of these dishes!

Overall the food is good for price charged. However there is a big problem in relation to the customer service- ordered the strawberry roulade which turned out to be 'strawberry flavored'. On the first bite, it was clear that the cream was gone off- it even looked yellow and custard-like. We sent back both roulades ordered explaining that the cream was gone off. To our amazement, the waiter came back a few minutes later saying that the cream had not gone off and the that the taste effect was as a result of how the roulade was cooked and that he had just eaten both desserts sent back. He also invited us to come back in two hours to see that he had not gotten sick.... Obviously he had missed that part of his HASSIP training..... Definately would recommend the chef and waiter to go to The Granary restaurant, Waterford to see what a roulade should look and taste like.... Or indeed any other restaurant really.... Nice soup though....
