“While in Masaya, you must visit the School of Ceramics”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

My sister and I made a trip to the school of ceramics. It was a very nice tour. They gave us a tour of the facilities and we watched the process of making the pieces of ceramics from start to finish.

Afterward, we went to the gallery and picked out beautiful pieces to buy. They have very, very cool vases, mugs, vessels and other pieces of art for purchase. The amount of time and effort that goes into each piece makes each one special and unique.

We ended up purchasing so many pieces (at great costs), that we chose to ship everything home. They offer shipping for convenience.

I highly recommend making a visit to this place.

“Great Crafts!”

A wonderful atmosphere for shopping for souvenirs with very reasonable prices. The people are friendly and genuine! Enjoyed an hour of being surrounded by their wares.

“Very good one stop shopping”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

This is an excellent place to come, do all your souvenir shopping and get on with your day. There is a DHL window in the market, so you can ship straight from there, though we didn't try it. Sales people are all nice and prices are reasonable.

“A solid market for souvenirs”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

A good crafts market, but clearly designed for the people coming from the cruise ships and school trips, with few locals doing shopping. It is a place for foreigners to get souvenirs. One needs to sort through the locally made goods and the generic crafts imported from wherever in Asia (but that is a common element in any 'craft' market around the world), along with the poor quality (and fake cuban) cigars, repetitive t-shirts, etc. It isn't a 'tribal' market or local craft people selling their goods, so much as it is re-sellers selling decent craft and souvenirs to foreigners. The selection, at least, of souvenirs is very large.

“Nice place to shop”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

We stopped here on our whirlwind trip to Nicaragua. the day we went was quite quiet. The are multiple shops/stands that sell a variety of items. We got a couple of purses and some tinkets for our nephews. They do sell art, wood carvings, some food. The sellers were not pushy. They typically do not take American Dollars so have Nicaraguan money available. As with these types of markets, you can haggle. the market was clean and I felt safe being there. We did hire a guide to help us.
