“Casa Robleto in Masaya”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

I am at the Casa Robleta. It is elegant, classic in design, and it just feels wonderful to be here. I imagine it having been the home of generations of wonderful souls, people with heart and spirit who are still present, welcoming and loving the guests. This certainly describes the current management - Frank, and the staff. It feels like there are a lot of friendly ghosts here and it is so magical I don't want to go to bed or frankly - to ever leave. One couple changed their travel plans just so they could spend another night here and have another Casa Robleta breakfast. I am beginning to understand why. It is like stepping into a movie. All of the furnishings are beautiful, ornate solid wood, and the floors are ceramic tile. My room has windows facing the courtyard, and wooden shutters for privacy. The dining room table where I now sit appears to be made of solid mahogany with decorative wood inlays. This is an elegant, first class facility at a reasonable price.

This is the most comfortable place I stayed in my two months in Nicaragua. For $50, I splurged on a comfortable bed, AC, hot water, super clean rooms, towels, a fresh breakfast, and quiet oasis. Frank and his right hand lady, Francesca, made us feel well cared for. It's a short walk to the Artisan Market. It's located across the street from the Hospital Cruz Azul. (A couple of taxi drivers didn't know where it was.)

Colonial style home with a courtyard in the middle. Lovely rooms! Very comfortable and the staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. Includes breakfast, WiFi and cable. Large bed and bath. Convenient location.
This is a small inn. It was a family home converted to a B&B. You can't go wrong. If you want to stay in Masaya, stay here!

Room Tip: Can't go wrong here. They will do their best to make you feel at home!

We loved our stay at Casa Robleto so much we changed plans and came back to end our trip here. The staff is amazing, breakfast is great and was different each morning, and Frank made us feel right at home. I would definitely recommend staying here instead of day-tripping from Granada so you can truly take in Masaya.

Hotel Casa Robleto was our last place to stay for 2 nights after touring around Nicaragua for two weeks. What a welcome retreat. The rooms were spacious and clean, the beds comfortable and best of all, the restored conolial house had unending HOT water. The court yard was beautiful where we would have drinks and play pool (the table was a beautiful antique so if you are a serious pool play, it would not be for you) prior to heading out for supper. Frank and his fiance are amazing hosts. They went way out of their way to make sure all our needs were met, even having breakfast served at 4:30 a.m. before the start of our long trip back home. The staff employed there were friendly, courteous and helpful, in spite of minimal English skills. The market, main square and bus station (we took a bus to Masaya Volcano National Park) were all within walking distance.

This beautiful old colonial house has wonderful warmth and ease - like staying at your Nica uncle's home rather than a BandB. This is due to the gracious hospitality of Frank (who's family house it is) and his friendly staff...and the charm and comfort of the house itself and its rooms. You feel right at home - coming and going to the nearby central park, churches, malecon or tours, or reading in a comfortable rocking chair in front of the garden and fountain. The rooms are clean and good sized, the bathrooms have good plumbing and hot showers. Wifi, TV, a/c, and delicious breakfasts add to the value of your stay. This is Nicaragua at its welcoming best.

We are departing this afternoon after spending 2 lovely night here in Casa Robleto. Frank the owner could not have been nicer! The place is spotless, breakfasts delicious and staff extremely friendly and always smiling. The owner goes out of his way to make you feel welcome and ready to help plan your trips around the area.

If you are planning on staying in Masaya we recommend Casa Robleto!
