Nice refurbished old hotel in downtown Knoxville. The parking was around the block in a municipal lot not free but not NYC pricing. The room and bed were very comfortable with views onto the pedestrian mall. Some odd floor level alignment issues but it is an old hotel.
The bathroom was very tight and had a large exposed sliding door. The oddest thing I have ever seen was, given the very limited size of the bathroom, who in their designing right mind would put a full length mirror on the inside of the door so that it aligned perfectly with the toilet when the door was closed?? Get the picture?

There's not a thing I would change about this amazing Hotel! From the second we pulled up to our departure was simply wonderful. The two gentlemen at the front desk were super sweet the entire time, so if you're planning a trip here, I hope you get the joy of meeting them just like we did. There names were Scott and Kevin! They both went above and beyond to make our date night fun. I was offered fresh coffee as soon as I walked in by Scott and then given two complimentary cocktail coupons for the AMAZING bar they have at the hotel. We shared our love for Chris Thile (an amazing mandalin player) while I checked in! Our drinks we had later that night were so good. We slept better than ever in The Oliver Suite and didn't want to leave our room. Great view of Market Square and could walk to anything. We ate at Tupelo Honey the next morning, Kevin and a beautiful lady at the front desk (I regret I didn't get her name) graciously held our luggage for us while we ate. Best food I've ever had. LOVE this place and plan on coming back a million times (:

Room Tip: We stayed in The Oliver Suite which was on the corner outside of the building. You can hear most of...

We stayed at The Oliver over night for a Christmas gathering with a few friends. We're locals, but hadn't visited The Oliver.
I was impressed with everything. The check-in was easy. The room was immaculate. The linens were excellent. The bathroom was spotless. I cannot say anything negative about our room.
We were able to visit the Peter Kern Library without waiting, which was fun and definitely worth your time.
We didn't arrive back to our room until 2 am and it was silent on a very busy night. (Even saw a wedding party) We couldn't hear a thing. Very well done.
I wish we'd been there in warmer weather because they offer adorable bikes to ride around downtown.
If you're looking for a special spot to stay while exploring downtown, The Oliver is most definitely the place.

Love it..from the well laid out and maintained rooms with high end furnishing to the cool speakeasy and great southern restaurant in the building. Service was a bit laconic, not bad but somehow appropriate to the whole feel of the hotel. Location is great..close to the market square area and cool downtown shops....cant imagine staying anywhere else

Great hotel. Great customer service and in a prime location. I have nothing but good things to say about The Oliver Hotel. They combine the historical aspect with modern touches flawlessly. Beautiful artwork in and throughout the hotel. The Tupelo Honey Cafe which is attached was usually always busy (because it is so good!) So you may want to get there early or try to call ahead. Clean and calm atmosphere. The bar is very nice. It is fairly small so you may want to get there early (opens at 5) because only so many people are allowed in.
LOVED it :)

This hotel stay was exactly what we were looking for - from check-in to check-out, it could not have been better. There was even a bowl of apples in the hallway to our room if a guest needs a quick snack. And do not miss the Tupelop Honey Cafe for a wonderful meal.

Stayed in the market suite for a birthday celebration night. What an awesome experience! The room is enormous. Bathroom awesome and plenty of room for group of girls to get ready for a concert and birthday party. The rooms are gorgeous. Beautiful furniture. Great view of market square. Great location for all of your downtown fun. It was awesome

Room Tip: Go with a suite overlooking market square.
