Wonderful small hotel with windows overlooking the bustling Market Square. Without doubt the best place to stay in downtown Knoxville. One of the owners was actually working at the front desk and was very helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed visiting with him at the free wine tasting at 6pm and hearing about the history of the hotel. He recently purchased, refurbished and reopened and his group did a wonderful job from decorating to completely updating the baths with walk-in showers. The beds are very comfortable. The housekeeping staff was very thorough, professional and friendly. Market Square has many wonderful restaurants and is a great place to hang out and people watch. The Riviera and Tennessee theaters are only a block away and covered parking is right around the corner. Our experience at the Oliver was equal to our stays at the Peninsula in New York and a lot more reasonable.

I will not stay anywhere else in Knoxville. Awesome design, big beautiful rooms, A+ location on market square, and walking distance to the football game.

I have stayed at almost every hotel in and around Knoxville over the years for football games and weddings, etc. and The Oliver is easily the best place to stay in Knoxville. I highly recommend.

This hotel truly lives up to its reputation as a high-end boutique hotel. The facility is immaculate, the service impeccable and the location ideal for Knoxville. We stayed in an enormous one-bedroom suite with three young children and were as comfortable as in any hotel we have ever stayed in- including our $950 dollar a night suite at the Peninsula Hotel in Chicago.

This hotel has it all. Charm, sophistication, and most of all, location. The hotel is next door to Market Square, two blocks from Gay Street, and 3 blocks from the Convention Center and the World's Fair Park. If you want to feel like you live in an apartment in the city, then this is your hotel. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. I also love the idea that I had to go to the front desk to get ice. What a novel idea, guests interacting with the staff. The decor is awesome; think 70's meets Frank Lloyd Wright. Simple lines yet extremely elegant. We can't wait to stay there again.

The staff is friendly and helped us find local places to eat. The room was nice, clean and fresh. It's a beautiful charming hotel no room service, but many options available within walking distance. It's also a great location in the middle of downtown. Not cheap but worth the extra money if you want a restful night in a nice location.

Local residents looking for a weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary...we love coming downtown and spending the evening on Market Square, thought this would be a great mini "staycation" spot. Definitely fulfilled all our expectations - this is a hidden gem of a hotel, very nicely updated and a unique place to stay in downtown Knoxville. Our room overlooked Market Square, we could hear the musicians and actors performing Shakespeare as part of the Square's "First Friday" events. Hotel manager Dann Black was great - even greeted us by name when we came downstairs in the morning. The room was great - very comfortable bed, nice flatscreen TV, loved the giant walk-in shower. Check out Cafe 4 directly across Market Square - great food, great atmosphere.
