“Very disappointed.”
Reviewed May 21, 2008

I stayed here recently on the way to NJ from Arkansas. Cedar Bluff itself is very convenient to the interstate. However, the Red Roof Inn was disappointing. Although the maid had done her best, the room was tiny, the carpet was soiled and the door, lock and deadbolt seemed very flimsy. I did not feel particularly safe and wedged a chair under the doorknob when I went to sleep. There is no central corridor. My second floor room was far away from the registration desk/lobby and accessible only from the exterior of the building. I am not paranoid nor do I normally worry about crime. However, I felt very isolated and unsafe in my room. I would not stay here again. The friendly staff did not compensate for the quality of the room itself.

  • Liked — friendly staff
  • Disliked — tiny room, worn carpeting, flimsy door lock.

this was our last hotel on a roadtrip from Ontario to Florida and back again. it was above average compared to others we stayed in. the room was clean. the beds were fairly comfortable. it's probably intended for business travellers but it was fine for us.

  • Liked — clean and comfortable.
  • Disliked — didn't have free internet access.

We did not book our stay. We showed up with four adults and three very small children(all under three) during one of the worst storms on the East coast and the night crew handled it magnificently. They brought up extra towels, blankets and pillows and advised us on what they thought were the best restaurants around. Housekeeping kept on top of everything so there rooms were always clean looking and smelling and there was no trash laying around in the parking lots. We were very impressed and will stay there again when we go back.

Stayed there for a few days for a business trip, hotel was nice enough, close to everything. Rooms have been renovated for a really funky bright look, with nice business amenities. Only bad thing is you have to pay for internet access, like all Red Roof Inns. I''m not sure where that lady was staying at, this hotel is in a great location and has offices and nice restaurants around it.

  • Disliked — lack of free internet access

We recently stayed at this hotel with our 50 pd dog and really enjoyed it for the price. The rooms have recently been renovated so everything looks brand new. If you have a pet I advise trying to get a "business" room. They are a little larger and were perfect if traveling with a pet. Check in was smooth and the staff was very nice. There are tons of places to eat nearby: Chilis, Outback, Seafood rest, Japanese Rest, Wendys for fast food, Mexican rest, and the list goes on. All were within a few blocks away. There is also a Walgreens about a block away if needed. Very conveniently located. You are close to the expressway, but I never heard the noise inside the room. They offer free coffee in the morning which is a nice little perk for a traveler. Even though this is a pet friendly hotel, it did not seem over run by pets. There were only a handful of people with pets and all of them kept their pets on leashes. I recommend this place for travelers with or without pets.

  • Liked — The fact that it was pet friendly, but you could not tell by the rooms. They looked brand new.
  • Disliked — Everything was pretty good for the price
  • Tips/Secrets — If traveling with a pet get the "business" rooms. They have more room for things like a pet bed.

This place is a nightmare - and not in a very good section of town. When we arrived (late at night), there were lots of kids out drinking 40's and playing loud music. It was 11:30 in the middle of the week. I told my husband that I wouldn't walk the dog (the only good thing is they allow dogs) due to the fact it was really scary to be outside the room after dark (despite our dog being a big dog!). We ended up leaving about an hour or so after we checked in and stayed in a Holiday Inn Select (it was only 15$ more and also allowed dogs) 10 minutes away. I also found a stray "down there" hair in the bed when I pulled the covers back. GROSS!!!!!!!!

The rooms at the inn have just been completely updated with a new look and all new furniture and bedding. Eventhough the rooms are still a little small, the rooms aren't near as drab as in the past. Still not reall crazy about the open door to dogs and the lack of TV channels.
