“An Authentic Drive-In Restaurant - Brings Back Memories”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

Hey, at Pizza Palace on Magnolia in Knoxville, you pull up to the curb and place your order over the intercom. A few minutes later your order will be delivered by a friendly attendant. Now that brings back the memories.

However, the Pizza Palace is also unique in that it's a drive-in will full course meals on the menu. You can have your Italian favorites like spaghetti, lasagna, and Veal Parmigiana. They also serve their specialty pizza and fried seafood dinners. My favorites are the Hoagie Sandwich and Greek Salad. You'll love the homemade pies.

I've been dining here since the 1970s and have never been disappointed. It's a good place for a meal after a visit to the Knoxville Zoo. Bring the kids and let them experience a true drive-in restaurant.

“Drive-In with huge portions”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2013

This restaurant was on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The main reason we came! The surrounding streets are not fancy, nor is this establishment, so if your looking to be somewhere exclusive, this isnt for you. We ordered the veal parm, onion rings, spaghetti, cheese pizza and had a salad split among friends. Please dont over order here, the portions are HUGE. The food was delicious, being as I'm Sicilian and all the woman I had the pleasure traveling with were also of Italian decent. The pizza was impressive, being that the food came out super fast!! all of the food here is homemade, and you can def taste that! The friendly atmosphere was a plus, but expected when eating out. Seating inside is VERY limited. 7 to 8 seats max. But you can call ahead and/or eat in the car! (Wasnt feasible for us as we were needing the stretch) After eating, we did end up buying a pizza to go to bring back to our condo, very yummy!

“Terrible Disappointment”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2013

The title of the review says it all. On our roadtrip today, we thought it would be a great idea to visit a restaurant featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Unfortunately, not only was the food not good....it was really bad. We ordered the lasagna, spaghetti, and greek salad. The meat sauce featured in the lasagna and spaghetti did not taste fresh at all, seemed overcooked, and was very greasy. Our 8 year-old son, who usually loves spaghetti took one bite, and refused to eat it! Obviously, don't waste your time.

“Loved The Pizza”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013

We stopped in Knoxville at the Pizza Palace on our way home from Hilton Head at the recommendation of some family members who had been there. We found it without any trouble and took a seat inside. Be aware that there is very little inside seating (maybe 8 people max). This is a drive-in pizza place, which was unique to us. A lot of people were ordering from their cars and taking it home, or had called ahead and were picking up. They were extremely busy. We sat at the window bar inside and ordered pizza and onion rings. The onion rings were different, but very good. They are hard to describe, kind of dry. We ate them with lots of ketchup and that helped. We thought the pizza was fantastic. Again, it was a unique taste, but we liked it a lot. Also, please note that they accept cash only.

“Just Average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2013

Went with my Wife and Daughter. We each got our own small pizza and an order of onion rings. Not sure what all the fuss is about. Pizza is okay but nothing special. Certainly doesn't nearly compare to Little Joe's in Dixie Lee Junction or Big Ed's in Oak Ridge. Again, not bad, but nothing special. Onion rings pretty good. Could've used a bit more salt. Also got slices of cherry, coconut creme, and black bottom pie. Not only nothing special, but really just not very good. Service was good and no problem with atmosphere. Lived here for 50+ years and never been. Now I can say been there, done that, won't be returning.
