Good food. Great atmosphere. Excellent server. Beer sampler is a must to try. Fun place to eat at downtown Knoxville. We will be back again. Park free after 6pm weekdays and all day weekend in downtown.

“Atmosphere surpasses the food, beer and service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 24, 2013 via mobile

The atmosphere is great...fitting for a casual meal or even a nice dinner out. A bit noisy but not overbearing. Ideal location is a table for two at the upstairs railing overlooking the bar area.

The food is hit or miss...one time it seems great and the next its like the kitchen doesn't care. The beer is overrated. It's not bad and is easily drinkable but it's far from special. Try the sampler before selecting a pint

“Fun atmosphere, good food and good beer!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2013

Very popular restaurant. Place was completely full on the Tuesday night I was there. Cajun chicken pasta was very tasty! Service was very nice and live holiday music was being performed which added to the ambiance. Not the place for a quiet dinner but a great place for beer, food and fun. Disappointed there was no wheat beer offering but Blonde and White Mule Ale were very tasty! Would definitely return!

“"Won't Be Back"”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 16, 2013

I went to Downtown Grill & Brewery with two friends on Wed., 12-11-13. We arrived for dinner about 5 pm - the restaurant was half full. The menu enticed me to order Fish & Chips, described as beer-battered fish. What I got were three oval-shaped patties of something that tasted similar to fish, but definitely not beer-battered. Gortons Fish Sticks would have been a better choice. One of my friends ordered an alfredo pasta dish. When she stuck her fork in to the dish for the first taste, the entire entree lifted off the plate - it was a gooey, pasty mess. Our third friend ordered the Durango Chicken. It looked great on the plate, and she said it was delicious. We all agreed that we would try new restaurants in the area from now on. This is the fourth time in a year that the food has gotten worse each time we go back. Service was not so good.

“A very good local beer, but the food??? eeeh!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2013

Traveling through Tennessee we decided to get off I 40 for a bit and seek a nice lunch. We found the downtown on Gay Street and didn't find much of a selection for lunch. We chose the Downtown Grill & Brewery after finding a parking space close. Their light blonde beer was EXCELLENT. Worth the stop. Their food leave something to be changed. We both ordered a Chicken Salad. The chef needs a new recipe. Bland an tooooo much mayo...and not even some crackers or slice of bread to go along with the dish. Stick to a few beers and a nice sidewalk view of the folks along the street
