Description: We believe less processed food tastes better. Not only does it taste better, it's much healthier too. You'll notice this difference in our house made dressings and handcrafted pizzas, as well as in our colorful salads and sandwiches. Fresh produce from East Tennessee farmers like Hines Valley Farm, Mountain Meadows Farm and Colvin Family Farm is featured in our daily specials. Well known for our vegan and vegetarian dishes, our menu has plenty for the carnivore. All of our proteins are nitrate/nitrite free, all natural and antibiotic free. Our house made lamb sausage is cooked in small batches to ensure freshness. Our sister bakery, Flour Head Bakery, prepares all of the Tomato Head's desserts and breads (including gluten free!) Each morning. By using unbleached and unbromated King Arthur Flour, we create healthier and better tasting pizza dough and sandwich breads. We also can easily accommodate your dietary needs. Whether it's a nut allergy, a preference for vegan fare or a gluten sensitivity, our staff will craft a dish to suit your tastes.

Unique food and vegetarian options. Tasted great. Had a sort of hippie/beatnik vibe. Cost $12 for turkey melt, chips, drink.

Tomato Head is one of our top ten favorite restaurants in Knoxville. Home to the best homemade pesto, hummus, and vegan/vegetarian dishes, all items are the list are worth a try.
Brunch at TH is probably the best in the city. Mimosas go wonderfully with the variety of egg dishes (try the salmon!), but don't forget one of their fresh cinnamon rolls for dessert!
During busy times on Market Square, the restaurant wait can be long so you might want to keep that in mind. However, it is ALWAYS worth the wait.

The pizza here was awesome - we got a pesto pizza with tomato and added lamb sausage to it. It was delicious - very unique. The location is cute with an ice skating rink outside. Other reviewers have mentioned the noise - we were there on a Wednesday night and it was pretty quiet. Our server was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend!

I went with my family to Tomato Head about two weeks ago. I am not sure how to start the review because if I only talk about food, then it was good, but everything else...not so sure. I don't think the food was amazing, but it was good. I had a calzone with ricotta cheese, house made lamb sausage (AMAZING), capers, and tomatoes. I really enjoyed it; however, my husband didn't. The service was not too impressive. The place was packed and it was obvious that the server was trying to move things quickly, something we didn't appreciate. Also, if it is your first time in Knoxville downtown, you might have a little trouble finding the place. So....to sum up, if you just want good pizza, beer, in a nice downtown area....then you should try this restaurant. It is very loud so it is a good place to go with families or just to hang out. If you want a special/romantic place...this is not for you.

Great, clean low cost restaurant right on Market Square. The pizza and sandwiches can't be beat. There may be a slight wait, but it is worth it.
