We wanted to try a new place. This place doe not take reservations so you have to wait for a table. It is a small place with the bar on one side and a single row of tables. I would describe the food "poor mountain folks cuisine" with an upscale price. Service was ok and the food was small portions and not that good. Would not go again for sure.

Went there for the first time for a date with the fiancé. Overall, it’s a cool, cramped little place with tables along one wall and a bar with open kitchen on the other. It was busy and loud but still enjoyable.

Had a great bourbon drink (Alabama Gentlemen) and a good Patron based drink with sage (forgot the name). I’ve seen some people complain about the size of the cocktails, but I think the serving was fair. Our drinks were well made and strong enough.

The food was primarily small plates with a “new southern” slant. Everything was nicely plated and appealing to look at. Flavors were balanced and enjoyable. Our favorite items were the pimento cheese with homemade beer bread, the catfish dip, and the winter squash casserole. We also loved the banana pudding with old school marshmallow fluff topping.

It’s not cheap, but its well worth it for something different and fun.

Enjoyed cocktail and apetizers at bar while short wait for table - super bartenders. Meal was fantastic including the sides - cheese grits, squash casserole and collards are all stars. Had braised pork belly for entree- fantastic. Jack daniels derby pie for desert. Looking forward to going back soon. Waitress was great. Can you tell I liked this place!

The team at Knox Mason does not disappoint. The menu is small but offers excellent variety, the ingredients are fresh and creative, and the high degree of training and culinary knowledge is showcased in a casual and simple atmosphere. We always try something new and have enjoyed it all!
