“Fascinating! and FREE!”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

The McClung Museum has an incredible, permanent Egyptian display, and a super display of Cherokee Indian artifacts and history. For a free museum, in a "scruffy little city," you can't go wrong visiting this museum. The kids will love it, too!

“Small but worthwhile”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

This museum has some unique exhibits that are worth checking out. I enjoyed the bird prints that are housed in unique slide-out cases. It's not too large, so you can easily see most of it in a couple of hours.

“Have always loved this place”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

This museum is one of the best kept secret jewels in Knoxville. I would go back again and again just to marvel at the amazingly gorgeous bronze statue rising out of the stairwell. I was very impressed with the array of interesting displays.

“Eclectic excellence”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

Cherokee Indians, Egyptian mummies, decorative arts of the world, the geology of Tennessee, the Civil War battle of Fort Sanders (four blocks away; ask to see the most-excellent video), and buttons from fresh water mussels. It's all here!

“Eclectic free museum”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

Tjis museum, on the UofT campus, has six different exhibit areas with many different exhibits. From how man evolved to Egyptian artifacts to the battle for Knoxville. Very intersting for the hour or so we spent there.
