Extremely friendly owners and great food that is hard to find in this area. Another hidden gem in Knoxville.

“Best Kept Secret in Knox-Vegas Baby!”
Reviewed February 1, 2012

I know you have passed by this place many times on Sutherland and wondered, "what type of person eats in there." Next time you are in this part of town, swing in. It is not what it looks like from the outside. My husband and I eat here or carry out from here at least once per week. Walter and Denise are the owners and they are an awesome couple and very helpful. Denise makes 6 different hummus varieties daily! They sell them in different sizes- I usually get the big container and snack on it for weeks. They are all so good but my favorite is the roasted red pepper hummus. I smear it on everything and sometimes I eat it straight from the fridge like it was peanut butter! Their carry out is awesome, you can call ahead or stop by and they will whip you up just about anything you want to go. If you are curious as to what the different sorts of foods are in the market, ask either Denise or Walter to give you a tour through the store. They have some pretty cool foods you cannot find anywhere else. A true treat Holy Land Market is. Check it out!!

“Holy Land Market - happiness on a plate”
Reviewed October 21, 2011

Went to Holy Land for dinner the other night. Food is absolutely wonderful. The owners are two of the friendliest damn Yankees ever to venture south of the Mason Dixon line. Southern hospitality could learn a lot from these two. If the atmosphere is a little sterile (it's a strip center, you can't get away from that) Walter's and Denise's skills at making a stranger welcome and serving some of the best middle eastern food around more than make up for the fluorescent lights and white concrete walls. If you're in Knoxville, visit Holy Land for dinner (or lunch) and you will NOT be disappointed.
