The Hilton Garden Inn opened Fall, 2013 and is right off Cumberland Avenue - a perfect location for anything University of Tennessee related. The decor is beautifully done, with a comfortable mix of contemporary and casual seating, colors, accessories. The food is fabulous, the staff pleasant and helpful, the outdoor firepit fun, the rooms very well appointed, the shuttle service to downtown convenient. Probably the only drawback is the parking. The entrance drive is a narrow alley, and parking is totally valet. However, once you're there, there would be very little need to move your car until checkout time. With so many activities within walking distance and the shuttle service to the Market Square area, you will be thrilled to not worry with the traffic and parking your own vehicle. Definitely reserve early for any football games!

Thank you so much for choosing to give us a Five-Star rating on Trip Advisor! While we agree that our entrance might be a little tricky for first-time guests and that parking is challenging in downtown markets, we are so glad that you found our complimentary shuttle service to be an excellent value while you were here. That was our intention and we are so glad that guests find it to be a great experience!

We hope that you will be back soon - possibly football season! Thank you again for choosing us - we are honored to be your hotel of choice in Knoxville.

Safe Travels,

Tracy Hicks

My family and I had to make a last-minute trip to Knoxville to help out my brother who is attending the university. We found the Hilton Garden Inn on Cumberland, and we were so happy with our stay! Jacob at the front desk was absolutely wonderful, and made us feel right at home. He let us know about all the amenities, the shuttle, and filled us in on the area. He answered all of our questions with the upmost patience, and was all smiles! The location was perfect with tons of restaurants and stores within walking distance. Also, the breakfast was delicious! Our server, Kim, was so sweet. All of our food came out just the way we ordered it. We were so pleased with how clean everything was. Our rooms, the lobby, the dining room, and even the outdoor patio were all clean and well-maintained. We had a wonderful stay, and would definitely come back again!

I stayed at this hotel twice in the last month, visiting my father in a local hospital. I consider this to be one of the better Hilton properties (and I've stayed in many around the globe).

I appreciated the front desk staff, who were friendly, courteous and efficient with check-in, check-out and two extensions. Kudos to the valet staff, who were equally polite, helpful and always had a smile ... Emmett and Shawn (please pardon any misspelled names) were particularly efficient and always helped with my luggage. The bartender, a young man whose name I neglected to retain, was friendly and provided excellent service, even staying open a little later to let the guests enjoy their last drink and conversation. The kitchen staff was good and the food well prepared; the bar menu included several selections that were far from traditional 'pub grub' and I enjoyed them thoroughly. I can highly recommend the grilled cheese with 'ham and jam' ... sounded a little odd at first but on the bartender's recommendation, I tried it and it was delicious!

The rooms were clean, well appointed and the beds ... ahhhhh. The standard Hilton mattress, assuring a good night's sleep. I did have one small incident on my second stay where the room reeked of smoke. I called to the front desk and Morgan immediately took care of the situation (Thanks Morgan ... !) so that I was safely installed in a new room in less than 5 minutes.

The small shop in the lobby is great for basic snacks and even had some nice salads, veggies/hummus and the like for a change of pace. I would personally appreciate an option to purchase wine as well as beer there (just a suggestion for the future).

All in all, a terrific hotel experience punctuated with pleasant and professional staff, comfortable and clean facilities, and easy access to the rest of the city from it's central location. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance as well.

After that amazing review, there is very little I can say. You said it all when you said (and I quote): "All in all, a terrific hotel experience punctuated with pleasant and professional staff, comfortable and clean facilities, and easy access to the rest of the city from it's central location. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance as well. "

Many travelers take cues from Trip Advisor comments and your comments are very much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to write - we appreciate you very much and we look forward to having you back real soon.

Safe travels,

Tracy Hicks

PS - Your specific comments have been passed along to the staff here - we will recognize each of them for a job well done!

Our family stayed here last weekend and had a wonderful time- all the staff were friendly and helpful; hotel is very clean and updated; restaurant breakfast was great; and they even helped with our Easter away from home and hid Easter eggs for the boys to hunt in the morning!!! Above and beyond- we'll be back.

Room Tip: actually didn't do the pool- didn't even see it if they had one

Our staff tries to bring personal attention into every guest interaction, and we are very pleased that you received that attention while staying with your family over Easter.

The only thing we love more than our hotel are the guests who choose to spend time with us.
Thanks again for the kind words and we really hope to see you the next time you are in Knoxville!

Sincerely,

Tracy Hicks

the thermostat only goes down to 68 and is no where near enough to cool the space properly. Carry a fan with you if you pick Hilton Garden Inn during warm months. We were quite disappointed in this fact because we didn't know. Then we were told by the front desk clerk upon check out that that's just the way it is and there is nothing they can do about it so OH Well...
