We stopped for a quick pizza lunch as we traveled from Atlanta to Columbus, OH. Found this pizza to be wonderful, with fresh delcious ingredients and a crispy-chewy crust! Loved the white pizza with chicken! Root beer is chilled mugs finished it off! The staff was attentive and friendly! We'd come back any time we're traveling through! Yummo!!

Hard Knox Pizza is the best I have found in Knoxville. They use incredibly high quality ingredients and pile them on. I dare you to find better quality pepperoni used anywhere else or to find more piled onto one pie. The wood fired oven makes the crust crispy on the bottom but still giving it a little bit of chewiness.

The atmosphere reminds me of a number of small pizza joints I ate in when I lived in NYC - certainly not a place designed to hang out but comfortable enough to get in, get some great food and get out.

Two notes - you order at the counter and the food is brought to you. That is pretty much the extent of the service. The other note is that Hard Knox is on the expensive side for pizza (the quality comes at a price). A lunch size pizza and soda will run $10-12 but if you check-in on Foursquare, you can get a free soda.

I have heard about this place from a couple of football blogs. The place lived up to what i have heard. The best pizza i have ever eaten. All fresh ingredients as i watched them make several pizza's while we waited to order cheese is laid in blocks not shredded (you see this you know its made the original pizza pie way). You can have it made your way or choose from their menu, the choices are created by a master. we tried 3 different kinds and all were excellent. If you like pizza you will love this place.

Love these gourmet personal-sized pizzas. Ingredients are fresh and often local. Only downside: pretty expensive for pizza. Personal-sized pie and a beer could run you $20. I often think its worth it :)

After our tip to Italy we have been searching for a good wood fired pizza...this one is yummy.
A bit thinner than weremember in Italy, but the cheese is so delicious and smooth.
We sat outside and could smell the great dough cooking in the oven. We were there on a sunday and it was very busy. The service was ok, friendly.... but not anytime for small talk...good thing the pizza is so good.
We had 5 people in our party...its hard to find room for lager parties here. But its nice and cozy just like in Italy. You can bring your own bottle of wine too. There are no drinks for kiddos except sodas....so bring your own milk or juice. There are a great choice of soda to choose from and a couple of beers, The nut brown draft was a great addition.
Please oder one pizza for each adult...just like they do in Italy!!!
love the black fired part of the crust!
