This hotel opened July 2008, so rooms are still fresh and clean. We paid a little extra for a suite and it is not just two rooms joined together. The layout is designed as a suite with a small kitchenette (refrigerator, sink, microwave), seating area with a large swivel flat-screen television, working desk (and free wireless high-speed internet), king-size bed, and large bathroom.
There were 3 gentlemen checking in customers at 4:30 pm, so no waiting. They were friendly and helpful. Our young guy recommended dinner at a local restaurant, Puleo's Grille. It was begun in Knoxville in 2002 and now has several locations. Our food was very good and the sweet tea was outstanding.
We used the small gym and it was clean.
The breakfast was good---typical Hampton Inn fare. We think their breakfast is a cut above the compeition.
The I-75 exit is north of downtown, easy off, easy on. There are also a grocery store (Ingle's), Starbucks, Cracker Barrel, and several chain restaurants.More
