“Avoid this hotel”
Reviewed June 18, 2011

Having stayed at a Sleep Inn before, I expected a clean, standard hotel stay. When we walked up the dirty stairwell to our room, we found a small room with double beds. But, our surprise was when we found a cockroach in the room! Yuck. We killed it and then enjoyed a night of listening to the toilet run while we slept. In the morning, we told the staff, who did apologize, but didn't seem too concerned. The breakfast area was standard, with the only hot food being the waffle maker. The table we sat at was going to fall over, so we moved to another table. I would not recommend staying here!

Hotel was in an area congested with other hotels and restaurants, right off the highway. Lobby and personnel were good. Room was older with a tiny bathroom. Beds were double, but clean. Room overall was good. A little too much fragrance in the air, but it got better with the A/C on.

We booked this hotel to stay for the night on the way to Louisville KY. Let me preface this by saying that we usually stay at a place like Sleep Inn whenever we have to stop late at night when we are on our way to our main destination. We have also stayed at Sleep Inn when we've been somewhere and plan to do alot of different activities and won't be in the room much except to sleep...so I wasn't expecting the Four Seasons obviously. But this was just an overall bad experience. We arrived around 1am and were given our roomkeys pretty quickly. The front desk clerk was EXTREMELY nice and helpful throughout the whole process, so he gets an A+. However, when we got to our room we found the chairs on the bed, with no sheets and just a matress. The lights were also flickering...the bathroom was nasty. We went back to the front desk and the only other open room was a room that smelled like a cigarette factory. There were also some sketchy characters in the hallways near our room. Ultimately we decided to go across the street to the Comfort Suites (another Choice Hotels chain) and it was very very nice. We have since stayed at that Comfort Suites on other occassions when we are in Knoxville. Once again, the desk clerk tried his hardest, and choice hotels ultimately made up for this experience, but pass on this hotel, it's not even worth the $45 just to lay your head down for one night.

The rooms are small and not much work space. Rooms were clean but not perfect. Their breakfasts are terrible unless you really like waffles or cereal and orange or apple juice and coffee cause that's about all they had. I had trouble getting the toilet to flush also.

Spent the weekend for a Tennessee football game. Great location for going to a game (less than 5 miles from Neyland and took less about 10 minutes to get fairly close on gameday).

The rooms are small at this hotel. Very small. The space is used fairly well however and we didn't feel too cramped, even with 4 people in a room. Biggest complaint about the room would probably be that we couldn't get the room very cool at night.

No frills continental breakfast with a waffle maker.

Internet seemed to work fine.

For the price, this was a decent hotel and I would stay again for a quick trip when I'm not looking to spend the whole weekend in the room.

Have started staying at Sleep Inns since June and they have all been very nice. This one was the same...nice, clean, good beds and pillows, very comfortable. This one was easy to get to from the highway and there were several nice restaurants in the area. Would stay here again.

Used one of those rest stop coupon books. For one night the cost was $62 including tax. Typical Sleep Inn room. Small, but OK for the one night we were there. Pool was very clean and refreshing. Felt safe even though none of the outside doors to the hotel locked at night, but ther were a dozen security cameras. Front desk staff was very accomodating and friendly. Hallway carpet could use replacing but looked clean. Breakfast was nothing special - waffle maker, toaster, ceral, juice, muffin, coffee, and hard boiled eggs. Easy to get to, just a few turns off the highway. Internet was way slow so I jumped on a neighboring hotel's that was much faster. For being a low end property it was just fine for the night. Quiet and cheap.
