“Great stay”
Reviewed September 26, 2011

Upon checking in, I thought the "older" looking lady would not be helpful. On the contrary: she was quick, sharp, very helpful, great on the computer skills, and tried several things to help us. She even gave us her recommendation for dinner! The room was large, clean, and had wonderful refrigerator for no extra charge. Cute little pool, although with several children in it, we didn't swim. Very comfortable bed, which is so important in traveling.

My wife, myself and our two (well behaved) dogs went this weekend to Knoxville to visit our son who attends UTK. He asked us to bring the dogs so he could see them! i had a bad feeling about trying to find a hotel that would accept pets in the Knoxville area and I looked on the internet for hours. Thank goodness this hotel was available. What a pleasant surprise this was and it was only five (5) miles from UTK. First: The pictures a previous reviewer has posted are worthless bc they were taken in 2006 and do not accurately show the very good condition of this hotel now. Second: Hats off to the kind and helpful staff. Third: Great room. Large with a stting area and sleeper sofa. Not perfect but very clean and comfortable. Fourth: Great eating places you can walk to. Fifth: Our pets were welcomed and very happy here. Conclusion: We will always come to this hotel when we visit Knoxville. :)

Room Tip: We liked the third floor. Very very quiet.

I was working downtown and this is a terrific location. The rooms are luxurious and the staff are the greatest. There are also good restaurants close by.

I 'low-balled' a priceline hotel request and won the Best Western. It was a pleasant surprise. The room was clean and was 'half' remodeled. They redid the sinks, countertops, etc. but kept the same furniture (it seemed?-- could have been a choice, i do know). The bed was firm, not my preference, but most others would probably enjoy it. (it was not crazy firm, etc.) We were on the first floor (opposite pool) (lobby splits rooms) and we didn't have a noise problem. We also had a 'suite' (extra couch) which I'm not sure if all the rooms are suites or if we got lucky. It was a nice size though! Check-in was quick and the woman was very friendly. (and she was busy- being the only one on a Sunday evening)

The breakfast was decent. The waffles were good and the sausage and biscuits were a nice surprise. The only thing missing was gravy, but that's a personal preference.

The pool needs a little paint, upkeep, but was clean. Same with the hot tub. Both were small so I imagine if there had been others present- it might not have been a fun experience. They weren't busy so we enjoyed it.

I’ve stayed at this Best Western twice while in town for a friend’s annual party. It’s a relatively good location – closer to downtown than the places out in Cedar Bluff and other spots in West Knoxville. It’s right by a grocery store and a few restaurants. The rooms are large for a hotel in this price range, and have a sofa, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. Breakfast comes with the room. Our room was clean, although the carpet was wet around the air conditioning unit, as if it had been leaking. When we told the person at the desk about this, however, she apologized and offered to move us to another room, so no problem there.

The biggest negative to me was that our bathroom had some sort of ventilation system that kept going all night. It wasn’t extremely loud, but once I noticed it, I couldn’t ignore it. I looked around for a switch to turn it off, but it didn’t seem to be connected to any power source that I could find.

Other than that, I was satisfied. It’s not luxurious, but it was clean and comfortable.

Room was clean, spacious. Common areas were clean and well lit. Parking lot was well lit and very open. While we didnt visit the pool, it was nice looking.

Staff was friendly. Breakfast in morning was above-average for a typical off-interstate place like this. Will stay here again next year on our annual trip.
