The grounds and buildings are beautiful at the resort. We were very pleased with our room. However, the dinner ($25/head) was completely unacceptable. Have no idea what the entree meat was as it was so overcooked that it was hard to decipher.
A church group was staying at the Whitestone during our visit and I have never seen a more rude and obnoxious bunch of people. I am all for someone having a good time, but these people went above and beyond the call of duty. Finally, at 10:45pm, we called management and had them come down and ask the group to quiet down. It still was quite a while before we could get back to sleep as I had to keep my husband from going and "talking" to the entire group!
The Inn management never apologized nor offered any type compensation. The group's pastor did apologize albeit not in person and bought us a coffee mug.
I do think we'll give them another shot as we are in hopes that we caught the chef on a bad night and that we won't luck upon another church group (or at least be with one that does not drink as much).More
