“Bisquits and gravy just like grandma makes.”

The bisquits and gravy are delicious and Bettys homemade jelly is the best. Try the Raspberry jelly you'll want to take it home. The men on the front porch were friendly and welcoming. Betty is a sweet lady that looks after the boys playing for the Kingsport Mets. Thanks for the hospitality.

If you judge restaurants by their appearance you would probably never enter the door or stay there if you did, but get over it walk in sit on one of the rickety stools at the counter. (There is no other seating.) Then relax and enjoy the great food and service. This is food like Grandmother used to make. There are not a lot of options but whatever you get you will enjoy. I had the daily special my friend enjoyed a burger. Yes it is at the real stockyard (maybe that is why the meat is so good.) and you will see a lot of work trucks there. I did not try the breakfast yet but I will on my next trip to Kingsport.

Well to be honest I am right next door and haven't got around to trying it myself. But I think I should mention it because it is such an unusual establishment. Right next to Indian Path Hospital is a very active stock yard where there are regular auctions selling cattle. The farmers coming to this market needed somewhere to eat and years ago Betty started a little food shack in the parking lot. It has a great reputation and it might be a great way to meet some locals.

This is and everyday stop for a lot of hard working people in Kingsport for breakfast and lunch. Great Food. Like going back to a 1960's diner. Rustic, and yes it is at the Kingsport Livestock Market , expect to see real cowboys!

It's hard to believe that Kingsport still has an actual stockyard where livestock is bought and sold a couple of times a week. If you actually want to go to the stockyard, this restaurant is on the premises and I understand it has hamburgers, fries, etc.
