Great for kids of all ages! Adults even enjoy all the fun there is to be had! Going back again and again as their special attractions change which keeps it interesting.

Whenever my nieces and nephews come to visit us, grandmama will always take them here and they love it. This is a place where you don't have to tell your kids to keep their hands off everything - thus the name - Hands On Museum. :)

We took our 10 year old twin nephews last week.
First, it isn't very easy to find. What is even harder to find is parking. We had to circle several times before finding a spot. When we finally did it was near the rear entrance, which it turns out isn't an entrance. Again, it is NOT AN ENTRANCE.
Second, it is sort of pricey. Even with a coupon it was $24 for the four of us.
Third, it is ran down. Not dirty, they were several workers cleaning around all the kids, so that was good.
But the second and third wouldn't be have been so bad if it wasn't for
Fourth, there is no information about any of the exhibits. There is a car (a Saturn so you can tell how dated it is) for some reason. There is a Noah's ark that has random animals. There is a water trough that is supposed to show the locks and dam system, but you wouldn't know it by looking at it. And then there are the fish. There are four fish tanks. The one with the biggest fish is pretty cool. One has a snake that is labeled and that is all well and good. One has no labels what so ever, no idea of what sort of fish they were. The last one has a label, but only to tell who donated it, no fish information.
Fifth is the layout. The museum is pretty much two huge rooms so kids can't focus on one thing at a time, the desire to run around it just too much for them.
Having said all of that. IF you want somewhere to take your kids for the afternoon and let them run around without watching too closely. If they are still at a pretend age. If you want entertainment, not education out of a museum. And if you live in the area, then it might be worth your time.
But we won't be going back.

The museum has a lot of fun things for kids, although it's looking a little run-down these days. My 3 to 6 year old nieces and nephews had a great time! It kept us occupied for a couple hours.

I take the kids to the museum every 6 months. They need to update all the interactive displays, not just offer a new one every year. Some of the displays have been there for 25 years and the objects in them do not even work. But our kids still like going. I suggest lowering the price substantially or adding newer displays.
