Went here (Saturday) to eat lunch and they were pretty busy. Several people were confused on which line to get in because now you pay before you eat and there were two lines. (One line is for the people to pay then you go over to the other line to wait to be seated). We had about a 20 minute wait but the nice staff and waitress made it better. While we were in line we watched them make sweets in the ice cream parlor. One of the girls who work there come around to the people in line asking if we wanted to sample two different kinds of fudge. I tried a peanut butter and it was delicious. I had a salad, fried chicken, white beans, Black Eyed Peas, cabbage, and green beans all from the bar and it taste really good, like southern home cooking. Price is around $10 for lunch on Saturday. Would recommend and do plan to eat here again.

We tried this place based on the reviews. I am very confused by the high rating. The fresh fruit bar is all canned fruit. No excuse for this in the middle of June. To top it off, it still tasted old like it was from the night before. The eggs were watery like they were egg beaters or something similar. There were no pancakes but there was a spot for them. The country ham also tasted old and was leathery. The city ham turned out to be more like scrapple. The only good things were oatmeal, bacon and biscuits. Surprisingly, the biscuits were light and soft. Really good. We had great service and it's a neat place to look at but the food is not great and not fresh. It's expensive for the quality of food do not a good value.

Good selection on the buffet. It is part of the Casey Jones Village and there are plenty of tables. We were there at prime supper time.

If you like old Southern cooking this Buffet would be good for you. I think that the food is cooked with too much grease; and sometimes overcooked.very average.Would not take my family there.

Similiar to Cracker Barrel this place has a lunch buffett with sit down menu. I wish we had a choice, but we were on a tour and had to accept the buffett. It had lots of fried and typical southern food. The place was clean, the service friendly and casual and the seating was cramped. The rest rooms were old, but clean and the stuff that was for sale was over priced for the quality. I purchased two pairs of earings and they fell apart the first time I attempted to wear them.

The surrounding stores were your typical tourist traps. It was a lunch/rest stop on our way to New Orleans. It was acceptable, but if you want to skip this place, you will not miss much, except a place to rest.
