The food is excellent. A little on the pricey side. A great country buffet. $48 for three adults. Our server was very scarce. Gave us our drinks when we were seated. Never seen him again. No refill on our tea. I like tea with my food. Went to complain and was offered no apologizes.

We drove through Jackson and thought the restaurant looked neat with the train car outside and the country store inside. Maybe no one tastes the cooking when preparing, though. The hash browns looked great, but were hard, dry and pretty much inedible. The egg casserole was a salty, soggy mess. The pancakes were dry and rubbery and the biscuits were like hockey pucks. We didn't mind spending over $20 bucks - prepay, mind you, but it wasn't worth it at all and therefore was a waste of time and money.

The food was really good. However, please clean your bathroom. Tennessee rest areas have cleaner bathrooms.

There were 6 of us, including 2 children for lunch on June 18th, 2013. The buffet was very plentiful with more choices than could be sampled on one visit and the food was absolutely delicious.
The atmosphere is very casual with the building and decorations very nostalgic. (Noting the original lumber used to build the building was definitely something to note. No. 1 boards which are unheard of in this day as well as the cuts were "TRUE" cuts, eg. a 2"X12" was a TRUE 2"X12"..... not a 11/2" X 111/2" you would see today).
The only drawback was the prices. $10.49 for a lunch buffet, (although there is a $2 discount for over 60), I felt was a bit much but considering the ambience and quantity of food available I think it was worth it.
Yes, I would go back again.
