“Food was Good - Right off the Highway - Very Pricey!”

We stopped here after our stay at Loretta Lynn's Ranch because we had heard good things about it. We had to wait about 15 min. at lunch time. The parking lot was packed. Everyone I met as we waited outside the single stall bathrooms was stopping along their interstate journey, as the restaurant is right off the highway.

We enjoyed everything we ate. It is American Southern along the lines of Cracker Barrel. They offer half pound burgers as well. A few of us enjoyed the daily special, pot roast that was thick enough to eat with a fork, and 3 sides. The portions were plentiful.

Besides the fact that the bathrooms are single stall, the greatest downside was the price. It was a very expensive lunch.

Having read great reviews of their chicken fried steak, I stopped here for breakfast and ordered it. Big mistake. Soggy, greasy, no taste to the meat except for the old oil that it was cooked in. Large chunks of the breading were missing. The biscuits were dense and tasteless.
On the plus side, the home fries were good, the gravy was good, and the eggs were cooked to order. Coffee was tasty.

We don't go out to eat often but this was recommended and oh they were so right. Great atmosphere and staff, food amazing, fried green tomatoes with sum spice to em, prime rib was amazing n I only dipped it in sauce 1st time I never put horseradish on and I'm 41. Only complaint, son didn't care for spaghetti because it was made with green bell peppers and to us it was good but not on a kids menu DUH!

Although we live in Florida we visit this area a couple times a year. We were there for breakfast this last time, and experienced some great down home cooking, and southern hospitality. Not only did we enjoy the food, it was served hot within five minutes of ordering. We have also been there with a large family group, and very happy with the dinner service, and menu. We've never had a bad meal or experience at the Log Cabin.

Food was fine, have had better but you won't gag on the burger or catfish. Wait was long. Waitress shoved plates in our faces and didn't check on us often but warmed up to us at the end right before tiptime. Cashier was a judgmental eyeballer.
