First of all block out a whole day for this place it is worth it. We did the rafting which was way cool and the Full Zip line package. Rafting guide and crew awesome, water was really high so we actually went over some of the best stuff, I could have gone longer with more challenging terrain but still a good time.
The highlight of the day was the zip line experience. Your going to spend a few bucks doing this but if a quality experience, safe equipment and outstanding staff is something you appreciate these folks nail it. If I'm hanging 100 feet plus over a rushing river I sorta like knowing I as well as my family are in good hands.
Jedi Mike and Jarrod were the best. They went above any beyond to not only deliver a professional experience but also learned about each of us our abilities and what it took to make our personal experience worthwhile. You see our son Brett (yellow shirt in pics) is developmentally delayed (mildly autistic/high functioning) and Jedi Mike had wonderful patience with him! We were really nervous during training that Brett would "Wash Out" but Mike had the insight to help Brett get through it and blossom the rest of the day.
My wife Michelle is scared to death of small places and heights and never stopped grinning all day. The variety of terrain, plant life, and geology throughout the tour is incredible and the guides knowledge of the area excelled at setting a context for the environment you were interacting with.
You need to be fit to do this, not a super athlete but ya gotta walk up here or there if you are going to Zip down later, but even the climb was fun and manageable. We were never rushed or felt pushed, Mike and Jarrod took the time to B.S. and again allow each person to embrace the day.
You can buy food at the concession stand (ours was part of the package we bought) and it was fitting for the day. It was very hot when we were there and the time in the canopy very refreshing and relaxing while a rush at the same time. Drink lots of water!!!!!
I dropped some bucks here (7 of us. and I'm not rolling in it $$, we drove there in a pickup w/187,000 miles on it) full package, full day and it was money and time well spent. I would recommend it to anyone who is willing to embrace the day. Lame people, people without a sense of humor and couch potatoes should probably move on to shopping at Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. I've got some video also will try a post at some point.
