On TVA Lake Watauga, at the top of a bluff at least 100 feet above the lake, the view is wonderful.
The restaurant is open during only the months of Daylight Saving Time. The water below and the mountains across the lake are pretty. Add a sailboat and the view is enhanced.
The wait staff is attentive, efficient and eager to serve. The hot bread is always fresh. The Easter meal menu provided two choices of meat - turkey and pork tenderloin with an array of vegetables and two choices of dessert - strawberry pie or a chocolate cake concoction.
Although the view and service were exceptional, the meal was unexceptional. The turkey seemed to be from pressed loaf; the dressing lacked spices and was gooey; the portions were small for $13.50.
We will return. The view and staff, again, are outstanding. The coffee is great and always hot. The cup is never empty. The seafood remains to be tried.

What a fabulous restaurant!! We went for a Sunday evening to enjoy the water at the lake. What a wonderful treat to find Captain's Table has great views, delicious food and excellent, friendly service. It is a rare occasion to find a restaurant that has a courteous and attentive wait staff on a lake. Not the usual beside the Marina restaurant at all. The home made bread was exceptional. Our Parmesan Herb Encrusted Tilapia was done perfectly, moist and flavorful. We will definitely make this place a regular on our list. Not far from the Tri-Cities, a pleasant drive and well worth the trip.

We figured we'd stop by since the view was incredible. It was around 2:00 when we stopped and they had a lunch special going on till 3! It was homemade sourdough bread, soup, entree and dessert for $11.50! THE FRESHEST FISH I have ever put in my mouth. The sides were good too, yellow squash au gratin and a baked potato. The dessert was interesting as I have never heard of such a pie-peanut butter chip apple crumb pie. I personally did not enjoy it but my boyfriend sure did. Overall a great dining experience and a gorgeous view! I can't wait to go back!

We recently visited this restaurant because a couple of years ago we had such a marvelous meal there. The food was not acceptable at all. Rather than embarrass my companion, we ate what we could, paid for our over priced meal and left never to return. Even the ice tea was soured. The so called scallops couldn't have been real and the shrimp may have been good two weeks earlier. Don't waste your time or money.

A typical marina restaurant great views ,furnishing dated but in good shape. Mostly fried seafood items. There were five of us and we each tried the, special a red neck Ruben . The sandwich was made with country ham cheese and apple cole slaw grilled on rye. The sandwich tasted good but skimped on all the ingredients. It was like they didn't have enough ingredients for amount of specials order. Other sandwiches delivered to other tables look more substantial
