captains table is a really good place to take someone you are trying to impress or for folks from out of town who are use to "putting on the dog". It is a very nice place and the panoramic view is incredible!

“Good food, great view!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

My husband took me here for a dinner date on a late Sunday afternoon. We are locals, but had never eaten at this restaurant before and wanted to try it out. We were promptly seated in front of the windows overlooking Watauga Lake. It was such a beautiful view! It was nice and quiet since we were there during a slow period. We split an appetizer platter and a Calabash shrimp platter and ordered a piece of lemon berry cake to share. The food was good, especially the shrimp and chicken fingers. They give you generous portions and a complimentary mini loaf of bread with honey butter. Our bill was around $33 which wasn't bad, but we shared our meal. Overall it was a great experience!

“Wonderful food, great service, and view of lake”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2012

I ordered chopped sirloin, my wife the linguine with shrimp and scallops. Both were perfectly cooked, very flavorful and served hot. Bread is fresh, tasty, and even better when you add the black and bleu butter. Ordered a Bailey's and coffee which was a welcome warmth on this cool and rainy day. Bartender/waiter (manager I think, other staff came to her for guidance) was very attentive and pleasant smile. View of the lake is spectacular, but sat at the bar today and enjoyed conversing with the bartender.
