The Gray Fossil Site is a museum that is located at the site of a fossil dig, where fossils are being uncovered from the Miecene Epoch, which was about 4-7 million years ago. Five bucks gets an adult into the museum and includes a guided tour. Don't skip the tour! The docents explain how the site was found, and then you accompany them to the dig sites which are just yards away out the side door. While we were there we were able to see paleontologists unearthing the jawbone of an ancient rhino. My thirteen year old son, our German guest and I were in awe. The museum is very good, and many fossils and casts of fossils are on display- camels, tapirs, gators, turtles, rhinos, and more. The fossil record even includes plant life such as acorn caps.
