we went for rest and relaxation and we found it to celebrate our anniversary. so much attention to detail in the cottage and the grounds. Our pizza was delicious! as was the bread, jam, butter, cookies. we couldn't have asked for anything more. I definitely want to return for some more hiking and exploring.

We took a little trip to the Pinecone cottage for two nights - me, my husband and our 4 & 6 yr old. The cottage was immaculate, had everything you could think of, and was extremely charming! We had a delicious welcome basket with butter, jam, fresh baked loaf of bread and cookies. Everything was such a treat! The bread, butter and jam were my breakfast both mornings and we had sandwiches with the bread as well. Oh and the pizza!! We had a pizza made by Papa Phil one night and everyone loved it. We took a hike, did some fishing at the sparkling clear pond, played ping pong and horseshoes at the pony barn, played frisbee, got in the hot tub, had a fire and roasted marshmallows.....just perfect, relaxing family time. We will be back!

The only thing I wished we had while there were clocks in the bedrooms and the frequent cycling of the HVAC kept me awake the first night.

Sounds like you all enjoyed yourselves and so glad you found us! Papa Phil's goodies are always a hit with our guests and everything he makes is from scratch! We have a clock in the master bedroom but not in the second so will put that on the list. Most folks actually tell us they hide the clocks and just enjoy being on "Country Time" ! Folks normally tell us they sleep so well here it is hard to get up so sorry the AC/Heat bothered you the first night but we'll double check it is working properly as soon as the next folks check out. Hope to see you all back again soon and thanks for such a nice review!

Clean, wonderfully stocked with basic amenities (and even some that aren't so basic). Everything from the pizza, to the coffee, to the bread was WONDERFUL. We will CERTAINLY be back. Be sire to check out Piney River Falls if you stay. A short 2 mile drive and some intermediate hiking with bring you face to face with some SPECTACULAR views of waterfalls and rivers. So awesome.

We returned to Pine Cottage last week, for a spring visit. Last trip was October. We enjoyed the warmer temps, and sitting on the deck at any time of day was perfect...quiet, great view, away from any city. Poppa Phil's baking skills remain A+, and we brought home cookies and bread...need to keep a good supply on hand! All the special parts of Grandview Cottages are still in place, and Illeaka's dedication to environmentally friendly products and local sourcing is great. Coffe is fresh roasted, goat's milk soap is so kind to your skin, the fresh eggs and butter...nothing but the best. Our next reservation is for Sept, but we hope to sneak in a couple of summer days to take the grand daughters...they will love the trails, pond, and the hot tub..maybe even like the cookies!!

Room Tip: We haven't stayed in Honeysuckle Cottage yet, but I think you would find happiness in either. Pi...

We traveled here for a girl's weekend and it was perfect! Lovely cabin, beautiful landscape. The thing we were most impressed with was how incredibly well-appointed the whole cabin was. Everything you could think of needing or wanting seemed to appear under your fingertips. Clearly a lot of thought went into making this amazingly comfortable. The treats on our arrival were great and so was the pizza. So friendly and really made us feel at home!

Loved the Pinecone cottage. Great view of the mountains and wonderful sunsets from the back porch (where the jacuzzi is). The interior is well appointed with a cozy living room with fireplace and everything you could need in the kitchen. The bathrooms are very luxurious and my fiancé loved the organic soaps and shampoo. The property includes hiking trails and a pond for fishing which both we and our dogs loved. There are also some wonderfull waterfalls close to the cottage which are a must see.
We also thoroughly enjoyed the cooking of Papa Phil. We loved the pizza, pancakes, biscuits (best ever), jam, butter and cookies. Everything is so fresh. The breakfasts were delivered in a picnic basket so you can easily take it outside if you want to eat on the porch which is a nice touch. You really can’t go wrong here. Ileka and Phil are wonderful hosts and we can wait to return.

Thanks for such kind words and glad you had a good time! Although the cottages are fully equipped for cooking, there is something magical about Papa Phil's cooking that guests just love and it seems everything that comes out of his nearby 1800s farmhous kitchen is a hit with our guests. Hanging in your jammies and opening up a basket of goodies in the morning on your deck or dining area, looking out at a rural mountain view, just kind of puts life in perspective again. Have a great winter and come back to see us!

Do as much or as little as you like. Grandview Mountain is on the Cumberland Plateau which is home to numerous waterfalls, caves, extensive hiking trails and other outdoor opportunities. You can leave your car parked and hike on the trails that weave through the farm. The view from the deck of Honeysuckle Cottage is outstanding and on a clear day you can see the Smoky Mountains. If the weather doesn't cooperate there are plenty of things in the cottage to keep you busy. All of the food including the bread, pizza and breakfast are excellent. Honeysuckle Cottage is outstanding in every way!
