Overall, we had a fine experience, but the restaurant failed to live up to it's reputation.
The restaurant had a fun and lively environment. The dinner menu was excellent, and was only surpassed by the bar/drinks menu.
Service, however, was acceptable at best. We had ordered drinks and appetizers. The first round of drinks and most of the appetizers were consumed prior to our waitress returning for our dinner order. Later in the evening, we ordered drinks prior to dinner arriving (~10 mins prior). Our drinks did not arrive until after we had eaten dinner. We typically tip 20-25% on a nice dinner, but we were surprised when the restaurant automatically added 20% for our party of 6.
The food was overall very good. One item, however, completely missed the mark. The "Red Pony BLT (Bacon Lobster Tomato)" dish looked amazing on the menu. However, it was served over "yukon-gold potato" ravioli, which were undercooked and bland. The noodle-component of the ravioli was undercooked and VERY starchy, with all of the noodle sticking together. The filling was a bland lump of luke-warm potato. They would have been better off serving the BLT over smashed yukon-golds, or better yet, a risotto or couscous or grits.
Other dishes were very good, while others were mediocre. The Guacamole and Mediterranean Sampler got us off to a great start. They certainly know how to cook a great steak - although lots of restaurants do this well. Their "Grilled Kale" tasted like it was straight out of a campfire, very strong wood/fire/ash flavor. Too strong for us, but maybe others like this.
There are not a lot of fine dining selections in Franklin, Tennessee. We would probably give this spot one more chance to live up to its reputation, but given the other choices in the area, we won't be running back.
