I was very confused when I first walked in to the House of India soon after it opened, because the main host and some of the servers looked familiar but I couldn't figure out how I knew them. Then we got to talking and discovered it was the guys from Bombay Palace on West End! They'd moved over to the Cool Springs area. Great! Easier and faster for us to get to!
Ever since it's opened, we've tried to eat here at least once a week, sometimes twice. Everything we've had is excellent. We have our standard favorites (the naan, mango lassi, chicken pakora, tandoori chicken, chicken masala, saag), but we've also tried other things and have never been disappointed. (Like the vegetable korma...discovered it on the buffet one day, so ordered it for dinner the next time we went. Yummers!) We like to go for dinner because we hate the buffet...meaning we hate that everything is SO good, there's so much selection, we lose all control, eat way too much and walk out of their stuffed. We can control ourselves a little better during dinner.
Another thing we like is how friendly and attentive the staff is. They make an effort to remember, recognize and warmly greet every repeat customer. So nice to get such personal attention in an age that doesn't value that anymore. This has quickly become our favorite new old Indian restaurant!
