We arrived just at closing time to the Lotz House and were afraid that we were too late for a tour. The staff and especially the tour guide, Grace Anne, were fantastic and we'll go back again. This is a must see as part of the Battle of Franklin tours. Thanks, Grace Anne!

Surprisingly entertaining, informative and engaging - - but you need to get the same gentleman guide we had. He was so animated and passionate it was contagious. It was like we were entering his home and he knew first hand all it's history. He even knew why some of the wall units had mirrors near the floor (so modest women could check that their bootlaces don't show below their skirt hem). Much of what you see and learn could be applied universally to other historic sites. Time well spent and worth the admission/donation.

We stumbled on this museum and so glad we did! Our tour guide was very informative and gave us some of the great history of the home and the battle of Franklin. A must see if you are in the area!

Don't miss this site. You may even be as lucky as we were and get the owner as your guide! He made us feel like we were there dyeing the battle of Franklin. Very moving.

The Lotz House tour was very interesting & informative. I was with a tour bus out of Nashville that included this house, as well as the Carter House, and the Carton Plantation. I only agreed to this tour because my 20 year old daughter wanted to go. I came away from this tour with a different view of the Civil War and especially the Battle of Franklin... which I had never really heard of before. The tour guide at the Lotz house knew her stuff, and shared many facts & stories with us. When we left, we felt as if we had know the Lotz family personally. The same is true for the other 2 houses we toured. I would suggest seeing them all together to get the full story. I would take this tour again!
