The last of our package of 3 tours in Franklin, and JT, our tour guide, made it all come together. His tour highlighted much about the house, the family, their relationship with the Carter family, across the road, and the Battle of Franklin. We thoroughly enjoyed all three, but were pleased to have this tour last, tying everything up so nicely.

My son and I enjoyed a tour of the Lotz House through a Groupon that he found. Our guide was very thorough about the battle, the house, the family and the furnishings. We found that others were visiting this house in a series of historic homes. Our Groupon was just for the Lotz House. I would have bought the whole series if that had been an option.

This is a very interesting site to visit for children and adults. JT, our tour guide, was excellent and made the battle come alive for our tour group. You don't have to be a Civil War expert to enjoy this tour. It is well worth the time.

Our ticket to Lotz House was included in the package with 3 historic homes in Franklin. We were super impressed with the story of the Battle of Franklin and how this home was involved with it. The Lotz family endured many hardships because of it but the good news is they learned to overcome and thrive! We recently had read an article in a magazine about Franklin, TN--about it's antiques, shops and what a neat town it is. Not a word was mentioned about the Civil War's Battle of Franklin. When we arrived to the area and inquired about things to do, we were told about the homes involved with the battle. We had a very limited amount of time to spend there and didn't know if we had time to include the Lotz House. We saw the Carter home and Carnton Plantation first. We decided to hurry through the Lotz House--but there is no hurrying there. It is too interesting to hurry through. The tour with guide takes about an hour. But you want to tour with a guide because of all the historical facts given. We would never have known about the Lotz family if we hadn't stopped here. It is an amazing home with an amazing story! Only problem about the tour: I wish I could have had more time to examine the antiques in the home. It contains a wealth of antiques which the owner has collected. A perfect place to display them!!!
